I like the gold wheel for Mario Kart Wii, but I have seen many others players without it. I think the gold wheel symbolizes that you are a beginner. I am not a beginner. Does anyone know how to get rid of it.:?

People without a wheel are using either tha GC controller, the nunchuck, or a classik controller.

The gold wheel means you use the remote alone a lot.

I know that, I have been racing without the wheel since the beginning of June. Do any of you know how to get rid of it.

I think you get it when you use the Wheel for a certain percentage percentage of the time. Not entirely sure though.

I think I read somewhere you have to race 95 percent of all your races with the wheel and you get the gold wheel.

I can't find that stat now though, so.....who knows?

I looked on my records and noticed that I use the gold wheel 99 perent of the time. Maybe if it goes down to 95 percent it will change.

Why would you want to get rid of the gold wheel, doesn't it give you a point bonus?

i thought i had read 80 or 90% usage before but i cant find it anywhere... still don't understand why you want to get rid of it? it def doesnt symbolize that you're a beginner. and if you've been playing without a wheel since june and are still at 99% then you either haven't been playing that much.. or you've played a LOT with the wheel

I don't understand why you would want to get rid of it either.

As far as I'm concerned, winning the race is the point.

Do you really think people are noticing or caring who has a gold wheel?
About the only thing I watch for is the # of stars by someone - which truly is a signal for advanced players IMO.

But if someone I play online cares one way or the other, frankly I could care less. They could think the Mii I race with looks goofy, but if I'm winning the race consistently - after a couple races I'm POSITIVE they're thinking I win a lot, and that's the impression I actually care about.
