I've been patiently awaiting a Golden Sun 3 since I completed the 2nd. When the DS came out I was SURE Camelot would have taken the opportunity to claim RPG mastership over thehandheld by releasing a third.

Sadly, I'm still waiting, I really think they have the ability to do great things with the DS technology. The pushed the limit with GBA graphics, so I can only imagine what they'd be able to do on the DS.

Golden sun 1 and 2 are probably on my top 5 games list, i ussually take out and beat them at least once a year. A second one seems highly plausible, even with the gap, and who knows what they've been doing these past years? maybe arguing between Golden Sun and Shining Force...who knows.

But those sports games...seems counter-intuitive...its a game...of doing somthing u can do already...i like games to give me some idea of fantasy, story, and somthing that is otherwise impossible. That is why these games are awesome, they have realistic people, with awesome powers (but not to the point that u are invincible). It was great at holding suspense and making u wish to god u culd go faster to figure out what was happening. And its just bloody brilliant witht eh graphics too, especially the fire and lightning, and JUDGEMENT! that is the coolest thing possibly that i've ever seen in a game, better than any Final Fantasy summoning, and these games were superiour to FF in my opinion too. i've gotten more replay value out of them than all like..15 FF games.

if they announced golden sun III seriously i will lose sleep and count the days until it releases. Golden sun took my rpg virginity (as lame as that sounds) and i still think it's the best rpg ever and i've played through ff IV-VII and say they can't stack up to itumbracascade

Well golden sun 3 is out for the DS in japan as we speak no idea if it will be hitting american shores. BUT there is a golden sun coming to the wii as I have seen the game itself, it will be called Golden Sun:The Staff of Hisperia.

I'd imagine since they are making a wii title for North America they will most likely bring the DS over as well.

Also in the pic I saw of golden sun 3 for the ds with the kid having it in his hands. Golden sun 3 was on the top screen.

A picture of a GBA cartridge transferring save information to a ds cartridge was on the bottom. Makes me wish I didn't lose GS 2 :( I have been long awaiting this the storyline gripped me as did the gameplay, So I guess its time for you to start losing sleep brohammer.

Same here. It wasn't my first RPG, but it's likely my favourite.

haha, wow.... if only. i think i would much rather have a ds version more so than a wii version. personally, i thought the graphics looked stellar on gba, ds would only look better. wii would have too many comparisons to next-gen

on a sidenote, i think i read a quote somewhere stating that games 1 and 2 were just the beginning of the larger story. camelot does want to do a sequel, its just a matter of when

finished goldensun 1 and 2, one of the best games I got for the GBA. But I cant remember GS2 having an open end.

Didnt they beat the grand enemie? Then meet their parents, everybody was happy, the world returned to normal etc??? I definatly can rememebr GS2 havign an end.

Since they made Golden Sun II: Mario Golf, Tennis, and now "We Love Golf". I liked them better when they put their efforts towards more creative endevours (like RPGs).

BTW: They were the brains behind Shining Force for the Genesis.

not to mention the kinds of psynergy they could come up with that would involve use of the stylus!

NO! The most the touch screen should be used for a menu in battle to select things, like pokémon! Of course though, the menu would be much more "complex". When you are not in battle it should display currents stats and also have tabs for psynergy and djinn pages.

THAT WOULD BE SO SWEET! golden sun 1 & 2 are like some of the best games ive ever played, so a 3rd for ds would be sweeeeeeeet, also they should make zelda oot for ds, thats like the best game ever made!

A sequel/ prequel would kick the world to venus... Alex with his power, I was hoping to battle him, maybe agatio and karst were saved when the beacon was lit, more antagonists, sheba, the controversy surrounding her, Old Lemuria, the babi ruins, and other great stuff...could make for a kick the wurld into the next rpg mania frenzy...oh ans WE NEED BETTER RPG"S FOR THE DS!!!!!!!! this would be great for that.

But, one thing i haven't heard yet, what if camelot just took both games and put them on a single cartridge... how cool would that be? I'd get it. Still adding better graphics, including appearance changing armour, new psynergies, summons (but keep Iris as the max) some how block cheating form wifi... action replay would make cheating too easy. The GBA to Ds transfer... still would work.

Camelot should get on top of this...and make it only for the DS.

They left a huge portion of the game open; after lighting the Elemental Beacons. I sequel wouldnt be off tone.

Neither would a prequel, since thats fairly loose water...

If you say they couldnt make a Third one, please, go back and beat the game, and watch the ending. I believe, after the credits, the scene with Alex andThe Wise One (or whatever, I havent played the game in a while) could easily branch off into another game. They could easily make a sequel.

I think the story in the second was longer than necessary - almost 50 hours - at the beginning looked like the new party loses sight of their quest but the last 15 hours - the trip to Lemuria, entering the two remaining lighthouses and reuniting with the old party members were better than the 30 hours of the first one .

And yes i want a third one .

Yes. Played them both and THOROUGHLY enjoyed them, but there's a time and place for a sequel and Golden Sun just doesn't need one. Does it ever occur to your that "holes" are just meant to be at the end of stories? They are supposed to make you think. Use your own imagination and creativity to come up with ideas as to what could have happened. It was one of my favorite parts of the ending.

I feel that if they truly make another game it would just be a disappointment, because it would not be able to match up to its predecessor. The hoax was to get attention, of course, but that doesn't mean it's going to do something. That's like everyone going crazy over the Wii's lack-of-mic capabilities, but making fake ones and getting people pumped for nothing is not going to solve the problem. Let Golden Sun be the classic that it was, and lets move on to other things.
