Great score and review.:) I'm glad Eurocom did well with this game (I believe they also made NightFire on PC last generation?:?) Anyways, right now 007 BloodStone has my interest more so I'll probably play this during my winter vacation.:)
I wish the bit of frame rate drop wasnt there, but other then that I love what I see! I hope the frame rate drops are only in SP (and they said only when its really hectic). I might have glanced over this, but are there unlockables in SP? Does it matter on the difficulty? I really hope so!
Good to hear that its a quality game, but the review confirms that its not much more than CoD clone, which is great if you like those games, but a definite problem IMO.meetroid8That's still my biggest concern, especially with Activision behind it - using the Goldeneye name is just for marketing purposes and misleading people. I mean, if it's a good game, great, but it shouldn't be a Goldeneye game.
Got a 6.5 from Game Informer.Dracula68
It's sort of annoying as to how some reviews range so far from eachother in order to paint a correct picture.:? I know it's best to buy to game and experience it for yourself but sometimes you just wanna know if it's good or know.:x
Sounds good! AMAZING!
I can understand how a lot of reviews will be very opposite to each other, I think it all depends on wether the reviewer just compares it mostly to Wii fps' of fps games in general across all platforms.
The IGN review sounded like it was mostly Wii specific as to standards and such.
Got a 6.5 from Game Informer.Dracula68indeed but GI doesn't like wii fps games even going as far as saying prime trilogy as bad controlled, truthfully said any non analog control fps game they give bad score. I'll get goldeneye some point but to me black ops seems better even has zombie mode, and theres so many other great games golden eye wait to next year

OK, but from the Gaming Nexus review:
"Admittedly the game borrows a lot from the recent Call of Duty shooter design, but if you're as sick of CoD as I am, don't let that deter you. GoldenEye is, for lack of a better word, a much "smarter" FPS than either of the Modern Warfare's. It takes the loosely cover-based action from CoD and adds some desperately needed cover mechanics, like the ability to pop and lean out of cover for quick shots, and the fact that protective structures are quickly destroyed under sustained fire. Simply put, GoldenEye takes a design that has become rote and stale and adds the features that it's really needed for a couple years now, creating a more organic and complete experience. Sledgehammer Games and Treyarch would do well to follow Eurocom's lead in the future CoD titles."

So, I don't think you could just call it a clone.
Got a 6.5 from Game Informer.Dracula68Game Informer's review was incredibly fragmented and vague. It almost felt like the reviewer was just coming up with as many negatives as he could with little regard to validity or actual review structure. IGN may not be the most trustworthy review source either, but at least the reviewer took the time to break down the game into the individual sections and explain his criticisms.
i like how he tries to say "this is not the N64 game you know and love" because... well... i don't like goldeneye on the N64 :P *flame shield* looks pretty good. i'm not getting it though...BrunoBRS

Are you getting black ops or Conduit 2?:|
You're not even going to pick it up later?:x
You guys should see the Game Informer review. It's so lame.
The guy even said conduit controls suck, and we all know that game has great controls. They advise you to play it with a CC cuz wimmote + nunchuk is a gimmick.
They also said metroid prime's controls were terrible . Apparently they never got with the motion control program down there.
Got a 6.5 from Game Informer.Dracula68Not really a fan of GameInformer ... Waiting for GiantBomb's review as well as GameTrailers and GameSpots (Any idea about what's happening with that? Just curious).

i'm getting neither, as of now. i'm not into FPSs enough to own many, plus i have a perfectly healthy gaming PC, and as much as i like the wii controls for FPS, i prefer the good ol' mouse and keyboard. and i'm not picking it up later, but i might rent/borrow from a friend.i like how he tries to say "this is not the N64 game you know and love" because... well... i don't like goldeneye on the N64 :P *flame shield* looks pretty good. i'm not getting it though...BrunoBRSI'll protect you, I hated Goldeneye 64. Glad to see some effort was put into this game though. I'm not going to get it, but I predicted this game would be a horrible flop. I'm glad I appear to be wrong cuz I know many people were putting a lot of expectation into it.
Eurocom did Nightfire on consoles. Gearbox (Borderlands developers) did the PC version.Great score and review.:) I'm glad Eurocom did well with this game (I believe they also made NightFire on PC last generation?:?) GamesRadar just gave the game 7/10.godfather_1yeah a bit surprsing ..but not. They BEFORE launch said the game could not possibly live up to expectations.Giving it a high score would backpadel their prior remarks so they had to give it as high as possible without sounding like losers. However still sounds like a valid review and a 7 is a good game usually, average but good. All in all, and not because the score, ign has the deepest , better review. You gotta try online modes and local mp as well when reviewing a shooter ffs! The reviewers that omit that lose A LOT of credibility.
Good score. I'll admit that I really wasn't interested in this game intitially, but after reading that review, I am now considering buying this.
My personal scale is also the actual scale:shock:[QUOTE="Sepewrath"] Doesn't matter what personal scales are, the actual scale is anything between a 8.5-8.9 is a B+. Dracula68
Still only a handful of reviews. I expected more.
I read from somewhere that review copies were sent very late, which can explain the lack of reviews.I think a lot of reviewers giving the game somewhat low scores aren't actually reviewing the game in comparison to what else is on Wii, but are reviewing the game in comparison to what games are on all systems, which is not fair. For a Wii game, Goldeneye takes advantage of the Wii hardware and controls. They add the pop cover move which the other control schemes do not have. The singleplayer campaign's graphics look great for wii. The singleplayer seems to have all the levels the 64 game has excpet for the 2 non goldeneye levels for obvious reasons. Each difficulty has more objectives which means the singleplayer could be lengthy. The muliplayer seems cool but a little standard fair, but what shooter has unique game modes in it nowadays? I usually am one to stand up for people's own opinion but I think reviewers are being biased against the Wii. This game has everything that a shooter on one of the other systems has except for the voice chat.
