its not a remake, its a cash grab by activision. Cashing in on the goldeneye name with a new shooter. Thats what i read anyways :Pmetalisticpain
they did that already with the DS version ages ago. called it golden eye rouge agent?
I really don't think this is true, but if it is.... we'll see how it turns out. I'm skeptical about old games being updated to utilize Wii controls. Especially a game that started the genre on home consoles.
Again, if it is true, I'm willing to bet it will be a poop game and Activision is betting the name itself will sell the game
The only problem I have with them redoing this game if it has online play is that 90% of the people online will be playing as Oddjob because of his height advantage. I had no problem hitting him but I know others did. The Wii Should've got Perfect Dark 64 remake. Sooo much better than Goldeneye and Goldeneye was a Super Awesome Game. I'm going to miss the secondary functions of some of those weapons but at least I'll have my trusty DD44.
[QUOTE="jamesm7786"][QUOTE="wiifan001"]It's gonna blow. Those who played it played it with its "remake" won't get the same awe and it just wouldn't be the same as back a decade ago. Those who never played it will see it as some awful graphics game and very generic. Either way, it wouldn't work.wiifan001
I fear you may be right... What will make the chances of your prediction true, would be if it runs on the CoD Reflex engine... poop on that...
But let's actually up the graphics, up the AI, improve the sound quality, give it motion controls, expand the online..... ....and now we have something that isn't Goldeneye. And *POOF* Activision makes tons of money of a game's name... this sounds familiar...
People want the original game instead of this? really?
JuarN18
yes and no...
it really is better left undone... :(
Great news. Looking forward to this.
No matter what people say, it will hold up to some extent
It will hold up to online FPS on Wii standards, excluding COD:MWR. Yea thats right Conduit 2 and Goldeneye remake are going head to head this fall
Even more shocking is two FPS by third parties on Wii in all 0f 2010 and chances are, (gasp) at least one of them will be good more than likely!
If this was remade on another platform, it may show its age, but honestly i believe it still holds up
Heck, some online FPS don't have as much customization as Goldeneye still. People go nuts over online shooters letting you run around on Donkies while you use clunky controls to aim with lame pistols in third person, this shouldn't do too bad and the traditional and motion controller options are superb
Some FPS today don't even have as long as SP campaigns as Goldeneye
New graphics, better framerate, more enemies, online multiplayer, i'm sold.
Good to see basically Nintendo ended up getting the best out of the rare deal in the end
Actually, COD: Black Ops, Conduit 2, and Goldeneye! Woah 3 Wii FPS! With online! and one has wii speak and no friend codes! Woah did the Wii suddenly start to listen to gamers? lol.
I'm guessing Nintendo will put some emphasis on these three FPS at e3, and remember Grinder is still coming.
I'm calling it now: COD: BO on Wii gets 8.5, Goldeneye remake gets 7.0, and Conduit 2 gets 6.5. Doesn't mean any will be bad
Additionally the flood of "gamers" who will bash COD:BO, 007, TC2 this fall who haven't actually played the titles personally will be unbareable for probably the first year after release
Lets just hope this game delivers and isn't a watered down versionSoAmazingBaby
How can a 13 year old N64 game be watered down to the Wii?

Because it is a remake, not the 13 year old game just ported. With all the additional BS of many FPS games these days, it could easily be watered down. Regardless, GoldenEye was amazing for its time, but I am staring to think more and more each day that the game should not be remade. After all, I don't want some fond memories of 13 years ago to go away because of some CoD engine powered remake of one of the greatest shooters of all time...

i think , is easier to get it right , than blowing it. All you gotta do is remember what made Golden eye great, add some up to date visuals and online modes and its done. Please Log In to post.
