There's a Wiimote next to "How to Play"!

And also it only features 1-4 players.

OMG.  I totally said that in the main SSBB thread at 3 in the morning.

I really don't see why people have to act like complete morons when a simple suggestive picture is put out as if it's supposed to mean something. Just wait and see what happens, there's no harm in being patient and discussing actual news instead of predicting something confirmed in no way and looking like a jackball.

"what are you talking about the only 3 buttons SSBM didn´t use were left down and right from the dpad, every other button had a function even though the L R were the same and Z was similar."

First, I say that SSB:M didn't use some buttons. You then say "what are you talking about". You then go on to talk about the buttons not used (d-pad down, left, and right which is what I was referring to). Am I in the twilight zone?

?

Because your playing on the Wii.

What, you expect to see the controller of the last gen console instead of the current gen.

yeah.. but thats for VC games.. not for original Wii content. Theyre not gonna force you to have one of those. Your going to be able to play every game with either what came with the Wii, or an accesory that comes with the game.

Man, I really don't think the Wiimote can be the main input.  You can't use motion sensing that well, because buttons and sticks are more precise for a 2D fighter like Smash.  And without motion sensing, you don't have enough buttons.

Minumum, you need:

Attack button

Jump Button (yeah, you CAN use the stick, but it's far too hard to shorthop reliably)

Special attack button

Grab

Shield/Dodge

Taunt :P

C-stick equivalent (fast smashes, and non DIed aerials)

A 16 directional analog stick (needs to be that good for a few precise bits like Pikachu's Quick Attack, but in a pinch 8 would do)

And more redundancy is better, because it allows for more possible grips.

I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to have SOME Wiimote control, but to try to force players into using it is just lame.  There's no reason EVERY Wii game MUST use the Wiimote- look at Fire Emblem.  ANd The Wiimote just doen't have the buttons for Brawl.

[QUOTE="Son_Of_Synyster"]@Blessing - Smash is most definitley NOT a "Button Masher". Melee was one of the most, if not THE most technical fighters ever created.Tuvac

Ouch, oh God, I think my brain just started bleeding.  I'm assuming you aren't exactly a fighting game fan?  Smash Bros. Melee is so far down the list as far as being a technical fighter that it doesn't even register on most fighting gamers radar at all.  SSB is a party/brawler game.  Yes, it can be played competitively, but so can Madden, and that doesn't qualify it as a fighter either.  If you were posting on Shoryuken (SRK) you would have been banned for the utter absurdity of this post.

You're dense if you consider that absurd, all he's saying is that you can't button mash and kick ass in SSB games you can in others.I'm living proof of that i've done it.

Um, SRK actually does respect Smash, they did bring Melee to Evo.  Only the trolls denigrate it.

@Blessing - Smash is most definitley NOT a "Button Masher". Melee was one of the most, if not THE most technical fighters ever created. It only seems simple until you really get into it :P. Games like Soul Calibur to me, are MUCH more 'Mash friendly.Son_Of_Synyster

You can't "feel" the opposite because we are talking about facts. It either IS a button masher or it isn't.

www.smashboards.com     try arguing here...you won't get far.

and if smash isn't deep, then why was it one of the main games at MLG tournaments where thousands of dollars were at stake?

and why are their all these techniques for it like l-canceling, wave dashing, shffling, triangle jumping (MvC2 style) and about a dozen ways to tech EVERYTHING.

and what about videos like these ---   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtjP2wUEZWk

if you don't think smash is deep, then you are a fighting game noob.
