Harvest Moon 64 vs. Harvest Moon DS

I used to play Harvest Moon 64 when I was younger and loved it!! I am looking to buy a H.M. DS game but want one that plays the same as H.M. 64. I have also checked out those rune factory games and they seem a little fast compared to H.M. Any suggestions?

HM DS is pretty good. But it has completely new characters.

Okay, actually, you can see the old ones and you can even marry the old girls, but only at festivals and marrying the old bachelorettes requires a DS Lite and a copy of Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town.

I loved HM64 as well, and picked up the DS version hoping to play it on the go and away at school... that being said I couldn't really give it too much time. For some reason it just didn't click like 64 did... but maybe that's just me.
