Lol, same here. A month after I got a ps3 @ new years 07. I almost got it launch, but its too bad the guys in front cutted in line, and some of them went as far as buying six of them at once.
I remember I also bought a launch elite, so I had five for a while :P
Got mine in the March after release. I didn't have enough money until after Christmas and my birthday. Unforturnatly it's broken now and I don't have money to fix. But it was my main up until it broke/I got my 360.
Got mine at launch, waited at walmart and everything, man I hope I dont have to do that for the next systems but im willing to bet it will be even worse.

But, to answer your topic question, I have had one for a bit more than two years now. Yes, it is my only console. I don't have unlimited time to play video games, so I really only can have one console. I will always own the console that lets me play mario kart, smash bros, and the great platformer games (my favorite genre).

well its a true story and im not gonna come in and bash the wii im just want to see the opinions of people that actually owned the console for a long time and enjoyed it
I had some trouble getting the Wii early on, but I did get it in December of 2006. For me, it was a great investment. I've gotten a lot of good-to-great games for it, and there's still a lot of games I want to get for it. And that's not taking the Virtual Console/WiiWare into consideration (a feature that I haven't use much, but definitely plan to use it more in the future).
Indeed. Got it when it released. Unlucky as I was, it was faulty and started to show black dots on my screen in games, and I had to send it in. Took 3 weeks until I got it back with them saying that there was nothing wrong with it. :| I told them what was wrong with it.
Anyway, I send it in again, had to wait 3 weeks more to get it back, and got a free wiimote for the trouble. Pretty cool, but those 6 weeks of not playing Zelda were pretty awful..
