have any of thyou noticed that nintendo doesnt make donkey kong games like they used to. i mean ever since the gamecube came out all of the donkey kong games havent been all tht great, i mean come on "bongos" to play a platform game. and then the same for the wii, using the remote like a bongo to race in that one game called DK barrel blast. dont you think its time to make great donkey kong games like Donkey kong 64.

Rare drove that franchise into the ground with unparallelled effort.

The bongos and the Jungle Climber style only have the gameplay methods making DK games worth playing.

Get Donkey Kong out of the freaking jungle.

The bongo game was pretty fun playing...but it's nothing I'd buy. I loved DK Country...I wish they would do a NSMB-ish Donkey Kong game...just straightforward with no gimmicks

JaysonGuy, what are you talking about? Take donkey kong out of the jungle? Donkey Kong belongs in the jungle. Also, how did Rare drive that franchise into the ground? The Donkey Kong Country games were awesome as was Donkey Kong 64 was a good game. Rare did not make any more Donkey Kong games after that. All the games they made were good. So don't know what you are talking abou this time. Donkey Konga was made by Namco and Donkey Kong Barrel Blast was made by Paon Corporation. If you want to add Diddy Kong Racing you can, even though it's not really a Donkey Kong game, it was fun.

Agreed. Rare saved the Donkey kong series. It's time Nintendo stepped up to the plate and made a worthwhile Donkey Kong game that is fun to play.

The Donkey Kong has been reduced to mini games and crappy side games.

its true that rare saved the DK series but that doesnt mean tht the great DK series should become crappy just because microsoft or watever brand bought rare.

I don't think you're following me

First of all Donkey Kong doesn't belong in the jungle in each and every game. It was Rare and their inability to change that stuck DK in the jungle each and every game. So much that now he's stuck in this rut that every single game featuring him has to be covered in palm trees. The Donkey Kong Country games were good but they were also repetitive when it comes to atmosphere. Rare couldn't think of anything else and DK paid the price.

I don't agree with that thinking that just because Donkey Kong is a "monkey" he should be in the jungle in each and every single game he's in. Going on that logic Mario should have every single game in the sewers dealing with leaky pipes. Instead we find Mario in space.

I know Donkey Kong games with the bongos and DK Jungle Climber weren't Rare made (thank GOD) because both of those games have a gameplay mechanic that helps offset the same old same old with DK in the jungle. Fun gameplay + boring environment = passable game.

Nintendo's characters are supposed to be able to transcend their "normal" environment. Just because Rare wanted to drive Donkey Kong into one of the biggest ruts ever for a major character there's no reason why he has to stay there.

hey, im sorry but it looks like u must of skipped over dk64. all the games before that one..yes they had palm trees and lots of jungles. but dk64 gave us a ton of variety, sure we had a jungle, we also had a mushroom forest, an aztec/desert, crystal caves, a factory, a castle, a hideout w/ high tech devices, a pirate cove, and finally a boxing arena. not to mention a fun and interesting multiplayer mode - which my dad and myself still play to this day. so before u go sterotyping every dk game as a jungle, play all of them first. thanks for ur time.

In the n64 era Nintendo had way too many platformers which was thanks too Rare its better for it to have something more original. Nintendo IMO should just make a new IP platformer forthe Wii and see how it does.

I agree completely with this topic. DK was my favorite Nintendo character, I LOVED Donkey Kong Country and DK64, now they've completely ruined the series with irritating mini games. Hopefully someday they'll make a good DK game, until then I'm not buying any of them. *goes back to play DK country on VC*

in my opinion DK Jungle Climbers for the DS is a very fun game in the same kinda style as the DK Country series. If you got a DS and need a DK fix, definately pick that one up for sure. barrel blast wasnt all that bad, but they coulda did better

Donkey Kong 64 was a great game. I think it would be great if Nintendo made a sequel to it.

Id love to see a new Donkey Kong, similar to DK64, while on DK64 id like to see that on the VC, i still got it on the 64, but i think Nintendo would make a killing off it on the VC
