having corruption problems with my gamecube memory card

I'm having corruption problems and I'm wondering if i'm supposed to buy a new gamecube memory card or is there some way to stop the corruptions on my memory card

you corrupt the save data by putting in and taking out the game cube memory card into the memory card slot while the console is on. you can only put the card in the slot of take it out while the console is off or the data will corrupt and you will have to start a new save file

If you have a first party memory card: You either did something to make it get corrupted or are very unlucky.

If you have a third party memory card: Throw it in the trash and buy a first party one.

Unfortunatley my first party Gamecube memory card somehow got corrupted after Melee tried autosaving once. Good thing I backed up my data on my computer. I've been wondering the same thing for a while now, whether or not I have to buy a new one or if there's a way to fix it (Melee seems to corrupt it every time it tries autosaving).

yeah your welcome. your memory card should be fine, except you have delete some of your old data and start over,

I had a nintento one and I almost unlocked all of the stuff on Super Smash Bros Melee and I lost it all,I threw the memory card in the trash and I'm getting a new one soon.

i had to delete everything off the memory card cause it told me to format it and thats all that it did,every game save of mine got corrupted on there and i threw it out.
