How reckless do you have to be with it to get a crack in it? Mine is in mint condition because i open it slowly, I dont flip it open like a cell phone. and I shut it gently like a laptop. thats all you need to have a healthy ds lite. I mean they aren't meant to be sat on or thrown... I dont see how else it could happen.urine72I don't get how it can happen either. I'm surprised that Nintendo covers that kind of abuse in their warranty.

It's a manufactoring defect that occurs in a small number of DS Lite batches. The affected hinge has a too tight screw hence why it is covered. Just effing call the hinge story is a year old. Stop worrying about a nonsense that would have been revealed by using wikipedia.
