Personally, I love the scripted parts. I think they add a lot of interaction to otherwise boring story scenes. And personally, I think the controls are pretty good. Combat-wise, the Wii Remote motion controls are quite good. However, certain brush movements don't work quite so well. For example, the slash control is sometimes hard to trigger both in combat and in the field -- usually this is just because there's a certain areas you're suppose to strike and it's hard to get this exactly. Also, it was probably easier to get a straight line with the PS2 analog stick than with the Wii Remote. Still, these are small complaints and overall the controls, at least to me, actually work quite well. bluej33
When you're drawing, you can use Z to draw straight lines.

Exactly, all you have to do is hold the Z button to draw straight lines. It's like these reviewers played it for an hour to try out the controls and then wrote the review from what they remember from the PS2 version. It kinda makes you wonder how thorough any of their reviews are.

I'm an artist so it's not that rough, but thanks a ton for that. I'm about halfway through the game and I didn't even know that!
To answer, the controls are fine. The only problem is with dodging, but it will still accomplish what you need it to do.
Get this game! The controls definitely wont be a turnoff once you start playing.
Why play it if you've done it on the ps2, same game.Games-Sage
The wii version flows so much better to me. The Lilly pads and the combat are so smooth on Wii...Half of the game is drawing
From seeing Hags post on his gaming playing I'd say it sounds...
Worse then you hoped
Better then you worried about

I hope all of your 15,000 posts aren't like this. Do you even own the game? Or is it another one of your, opinions of an opinion?

I'm going on someone's impressions of the game. I trust the poster's judgement when looking at the game.

Fair enough. Dodge is really the only pain, but it still does what you need it to do. I just use it for dodging back, since that's the only direction I get to work 100% of the attempts. Left and right are a different story though...
Why did nunchuk have to be weaksauce with motion controls?!LINKloco
And why haven't they learned by now? I can't think of a time where nunchuck mapping ever went well. Besides like Wii sports boxing.

So the dodge mechanic works flawlessly for you plus every single weapon?
Maybe he just hasn't found the dodge skill yet. ;) You don't get it at the start.
At any rate, the dodge thing is so minor and optional that I don't even care that it doesn't really work. Yes, it's weird that they'd have something in the game that basically doesn't work, but it's really not a big deal. They could have just removed it from the game entirely and you'd have gotten the same effect. I've never once said to myself "man, I really wish I could dodge".

10,000 Yen may be a lot in the beginning of the game but by the end you can earn that in a single enemy encounter. It's chump change.

The 1up SSX Blur, Trauma Center:Second Opinion, Trauma Center:New Blood and Gamespot Zelda Twilight Princess, Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn review should tell you that reviews of the wii version must be examined with great care namely from several different sources and then compared to find the bs.
they aren't bad. Ocassionally they aren't responsive(like almost every wii game that uses the motion funtions), but for the most part their pretty good.
But if you already have it on the PS2, why get it on the Wii? Their the same game. And honestly, Okami is so FREAKIN long I can't imagine wanting to go through it all a second time.
