Anyone else not understand that the DSi has done nothing to innvoative or improve upon anything?
Better wi-fi and a bigger screen are no brainers. You have a camera and a music player....ok now tell me the significance of that in me playing video games. Because this is a video game system! DSi has done nothing.
wiifan001
No the DSi has definetely affected the games. Because they decided that a camera was more important than backwards compatibility so good bye GBA games...
Anyone have a link to the confrence though?
I wouldn't say it was a bad conference but you guys are going over the top.
Also is there a video of the conference somewhere? I've only caught information but not actually seen it, it might be my problem :P, I want to see it reguardless though.
BTW, i checked youtube for it and found nothing.

You act like they said this was the DS2 that's a hell of an improvement over Lite, and you forgot that both screens are touch sensitive too, the camera is a two way camera as well, since it is only an updated DS and not DS2 they don't have to add great revolutionary gameplay additions since DS2 will be doing that.

Again if you want GBA games over the camera then buy DS Lite, not too hard to figure out.
Ignore him scar, he's just pissed at basically everything and nothing.-OathLol.
While I also feel that re-releaing Gamecube games on the Wii is pointless and another gimmicky move to make money, that was only one thing out of several that was discussed. Overall, this was a good event and some neat stuff is headed our way.
To Jasonguy: Just do like me and don't buy these Gamecube 'rehashes' - it doesn't have to affect you in the least if you don't let it. I love my Gamecube games and all, but I wouldn't ever buy a remake/port of any of them, especially not with motion control slapped onto them.

Well, I just wanted to point out that when the DS Lite came out, Nintendo almost immediately pulled all original DS's from store shelves and stopped producing/selling them. While they are warning us a full year ahead of time that we should buy a new DS Lite now if we want it, I still feel that it is unfair because when I finally get around to working on Pokemon Diamond & Pearl, I may be unable to transfer the starters and legendaries from the GBA versions over to the new games to complete my pokedex. Normally, the developer of the game shouldn't be responsible for future hardware changes/modifications, however, Nintendo publishes the Pokemon games themselves, so they are knowingly omitting a piece of hardware from a DS system that will remove some extended capabilities from one of their best-selling DS games. In other words it's unfair to their customers, and kind of a dumb move.
I can see making Deoxys and Mew event pokemon, this makes them more sought-after, however unfair that is, but when you make it impossible for a player to obtain some of the most memorable pokemon such as Charizard without trading someone who already got one over the last two years, that would kinda disappoint new fans drawn in by the DSi as well as people who have owned the game for a while but have been working on other games they own.
7/10
Good games for Wii, S&P 2, Dynamic, PO!!, Cosmic Walkers and Murumasa look good. Storage solution is so simple but atleast we have one now, just because they released it late isnt as bad as not releasing it at all. New channels are a nice addition, they didnt have to release them you know, some people are complaining that they released it but it won't be good. They aren't even out yet. Re-releasing gamecube games is a good and bad idea. Bad part is that time will be wasted and so will money but I would really like to play MP1 and 2 with motion controls and the games might actually be cheap to create and make more money for Ninty.
Previously announced games were also shown such as The Conduit which looks better now, Madworld and COD: Waw which might be a solid A game.
DSi is a so so. Nicer screens, lighter design. Camera is ok. No GBA slot is biggest downfall. DSware is biggest attraction.
So I stand by my rating. It was a 7/10.
Better than E3 which I will give a 4/10.

Who knows maybe they'll make DS ports?
QUESTION: is the dsi a completley new system, or is it just an upgrade to the ds? by this i mean are we going to play ds games, or dsi games on it..Sword-Demon
No, it's just an updated DS.
So you can still play new games on your DS.
Just some games will take advantage of the couple features the DSi offers.

While I don't think the coference was that great, I tihnk you're exageratting. They're not going to ONLY release Gamecub games, they're having a few extra people port games, while everyone else works on newer games. Nintendo is a huge company, they have manpower to spare. Allowing a few programmers to port something isn't going to mean less games. Think Xbox classics, but improved. Hopefully they will let your download games for free if you own them already. Unlinkely Though.
MY complaint Is the DSi. All it is is a DS light, with a camera. While Internal memory and SD cards are cool, I like my GBA games. Furthermore, the DSi doesn't address the buttun layout issue that plaques the DS light- The directional and action buttons are horrendus. And really, who needs a camera on their DS? We all know it isn't going to be a very high quality camera. it is going to be of average quality, or less. Many people may have phones with cameras like that of the DSi. So no one needs it. Plus, with an action replay you can turn your DS into an DSi, minus the camer; action replays and similar products support holding SD cards for data and stuff.

He probably thinks both conferences needed MOAR WII MUSIC!
he's just seeking attention...
Obviously, and I change my mind. After hearing more info on the conference, I say this conference was great. In another thread I said it was lame :P

Nintendo doesn't have anyone they can spare for lower tasks though. Their rereleases have the same kind of effort their normal releases have. It's not like other companies where you can put the low end guys on some titles. Nintendo doesn't have low level guys.
If it was just porting over games it would still be bad but not horrible. They're going to tack on motion controls at the very least.
Right now Nintendo has said we're getting 2 new games and 7 old ones
No one should be happy with that ratio.

Who?
Me
This went about as well as serving steak at a vegan family reunion.
Honestly the only thing that could have made everything s
uck more was if they said we owed back taxes on all of our Wii's and we each had to pony up dough.
r u serious, if that happened, it would have been the greatest conference ever by a company
