How do i save on Super mario Galaxy?

Ok, I just got this game and cannot figure out how to save? Does this game have save points or something?

I pressed the home button and it says your game will be lost if not saved but i do not see an option to save the game.

Just beat a stage, it'll ask if you want to save. Or press quit when you pause it.

after you beat a level it autamaticly pops out and asks you if you want to save or you cn put quit and save

i dont believe people are acctually answering this question.. let him(?) find that for himself(?).. i mean its just a noobish question (no offence to the guy asking it).. there are enough ways a person can find out how to SAVE YOUR GAME IN MARIO GALAXY!!! without comming here and creating a TOPIC out of it in the wii forums..

I have played it several times... nothing saves. I have reached various levels. As I go to quit, it says "Do you want to save?" and I click on yes. It says "one moment - saving". But when I go back, choose my same character and open the game, it starts over at the very beginning. What am I missing? Thanks! pianoplinker

I was trying to sort out the issue for my friends son. I don't own a Wii and I don't have an instruction manual for this game. I've now figured out/realized that the game auto saves, no thanks to you guys. Cunts.
