So, the rumour of the Super Mario 3D Land demo caused a certain level of buzz, and I asked Nintendo about it. They didn't reply yet :(

In my opinion demos are pretty much confirmed, because in settings, SpotPass Automatic Downloads mentions them, in eShop the "About eShop" mentions demos FIRST, and Reggie (that dude scares me) talked about them.

I like demos *nods* Because if I want to buy a game and it isn't available, I play the demo to stop exploding ;)

I'd like ALL the demos from E3 AND Gamescom hehe, especially the 3D Land, Mario Kart 7 and Revelations demo. :)

I'd love demos. Seriously, the only thing that'd help me do is buy more games. If I'm not sure whether or not to buy a game, chances are I won't buy it since gaming is quite an expensive hobby. Demo's may just be the thing to persaude me. It would only mean more purchases from someone like me.

Check the "About eShop" section in eShop - Settings. They mentioned demos first, before DSiWare and stuff. Then, go to the "Internet Settings" in Settings, check-eth out the "Automatic SpotPass Downloads" thingy.

And the scary dude Reggie talked about them at E3 or some other big thingamijig. Nintendo can't let us down after all that. :(

I love demos, they help me decide if i want to buy the game and it also helpes me to play my most exited game sooner. I just hope the rumors are true i would love to play KH3D and Beyond the Labyrinth, but i think u know that already. :D

I really hope nintendo will do that. They already have demos for the DS on the Nintendo channel on the wii.(Kirby Mass Attack just got added and it's fun!) So I'm sure it's not too hard to add demos on the eShop.

I'm not a fan of demos. Plus I don't want to hold the dpad to the right, for one hour, to get to them.

Demos are good, assuming you don't have to pay for each demo. Now if it's a game I'm really excited for, then I might pay for the demo. Like if they ever get a demo of Paper Mario for the 3DS then I'd be willing to pay for the demo.

Your talking about the same Nintendo that has demos for the DS? Anyway demos are a good form of advertisement, the Kirby Mass Attack demo certainly got me far more interested in that game than I otherwise would have been. As long as they make the process more streamlined, like being able to download it directly from the shop and save it on the system or SD card and auto downloads when you pass hotspots that you can turn on or off, it can only help.

[Free] demos would be an amazing way to advertise games and let people have an easier time deciding on which game to buy. I would love to see every game demo shown on E3 in the eShop.

If it is as much of a hassle downloading demos as it is to download other software, they can keep them. I mean, it took me half a dozen attempts to download Dark Void Zero and Soul of Darkness. I even failed downloading a couple of the NES games once or twice. Never successfully downloaded Netflix, either.

Wow, really? That much trouble? My 3DS hasn't failed to download a single thing yet, and I have downloaded at least 12 different things.

There should be demos for every damn piece of downloadable software, and demos for most major releases. Microsoft got one thing really right this generation, and that was mandatory demos for XBLA stuff. That way there's no mystery, you can try out the week's set of releases and see if anything clicks for you. As it stands, you have to dig through a nightmare of PR releases and nonexistent online impressions because almost no one buys DSiWare/E-Shop stuff.

Pretty much. I had troubles when the eShop launched but after that it has been quite smooth.

It's weird- y'know the baubles that drop into the box to show download progress, right? 4 of them pop in, drop into the box- box changes color, blahblah. Except anytime I try to download something I get one or two full sets of 4, but then I just get 1 over and over until it eventually tells me the download failed and I need to restart my 3ds. It can't be a problem with my internet- my 360 has no trouble downloading anything, I never drop below 3 bars for my internet connection on my 3ds, and in my bedroom(where I usually play my 3ds) I'm right on top of my wireless router.

I hope those Mario 3D Land rumors end up true, knowing Nintendo though the demo and update won't come out until the day Mario Land comes out. I think this is a step, however small, in the right direction 1- One Universal Friend Codes (and rumors of no FCs at all for Wii U) 2- Mario Kart 7 will actually allow friends to see what mode you're playing, on what map, online or single player) 3- Demo's. Now we just need real messaging system. C'mon Nintendo! Just give us the Wii address book and that'll do!
