on a windows computer go to your control panel, and open network connections. right click on wireless connection (LAN if you are hard wired) and click on staus. then click on the support tab copy the default gateway address into your internet address bar (or copy paste). This will open up your modem or wireless routers internal options. depending on the model, you should be able to view all the computers that are connected to your modem and/or router.
The only way to stop people from using your wireless network is to enable WPA security. Do not use WEP. WEP is so easily cracked that it's the same as not using any security at all. Also, don't waste your time with MAC filtering or disabling SSID broadcast. Both are extremely weak compared to WPA. All you need to do is enable WPA encryption.
Best choice (for home use): WPA2 Personal with AES encryption If some of your stuff doesn't support WPA2 or AES: WPA Personal with TKIP encryption

What do you mean MAC filtering is a waste of time? That's one of the best things TO do. Sure it takes a bit of setting up but once it's done, only the MAC addresses you specify will be the only ones on your network.
there is no good way to stop people connecting to you connection bt WPA is the best out at the mo. i can hack i WPA in about an hour. tdavis20050 has told you the best way to find out what you have connected.
