Does anyone know? I just want to know estimate of when a complete new DS or Nintendo Handheld will come out. That's not including the DSi.

Also, whens the next Pokemon Game coming? As in the RPG/Color title games.

6-7 years I think but the DS(i) will stay longer I think.

Hmm.... i dunno, so im estimating here! about 4 to 3 years if longer 5 to 8 years, it depends on how long the DSi stands up for!

Uhhhhh, 2 more years? That's going to suck, Well they will announce it a year before it gets released so that will be cool. As long as theres something to look forward to I'm happy.

There's no set amount. The original Game Boy lasted from 1989 to 2001. But then the GBA only lasted 3 years before the DS released. My guess is that Nintendo already has their next handheld planned and ready to go. My guess is that they'll release it when Sony announces the release of next PSP. Nintendo will ride out the DS as long as they possibly can.

I think it will take another 1-2 years. It's still a hot item and they would be crazy to release it in the short term, even if there were to be a whole new PSP. It's actually a whole other terrain, because Nintendo has got the things gamers and non-gamers want, which are brain games, unique gameplay and the exclusive and popular games, like mario and pokemon.

Yeah but it was not the latest handheld. TC wants to know how long until the next handheld not counting DSi.

Maybe we are not getting a new handheld until 2010 or 2011. But i dont even need a new one since the DS has pretty good games.

About 6 but I'm sure the ds will last longer than that since there's still a lot of great games to come in the next few years.

i think from a marketing standpoint, the lifespan of handhelds runs about 4-5 years to be profitable.

I agree. The DS is still selling really well and Nintendo isn't going to stop until someone makes them stop. However, I think it won't be long until Sony announces the next PSP since the current PSP is almost dead.
