How warm is the Wii supposed to get?

I have noticed that my Wii is very warm to the touch when wiiconnect24 is used. Is this normal? The Wii also runs pretty warm when just playing games. Even the air coming out of the vent is warm. Is this a sign of it overheating or do you think I am just being paranoid?

So, iis it actually safe to use Wii Connect24? I've heard so many things here and on other sites about the Wii getting really hot and causing problems with the hardware. Does using/not using it really make a difference.
