I can't wait for 2011 for the new wii-hd

I bought a wii then I sold it last year then I bought one this year sold it again. I seriously need a wii with HD. I wonder when they are going to take preorder for it though? But I can just imageing playing mario in HD or probably playing any other game that comes out for xbox or playstation that the wii never gets because it's not in hd. Oh and I want them to add a hard drive "not a sd" card. U guys hyped for 2011? hehe..

The government didn't mandate HD. The analog signal will no longer be used,, it will be soley a digital broadcast.. That means if you use rabbit ears to get channels they wont work anymore. Has nothing to do with HD.

well I am sure it's going to be out in 2011 at least. Because if it isn't out then that would be a dumb idea because everything is going HD. I want MARIO IN HD, I don't want mario in SD quality which look ugly on a big screen 1080p lcd. cinemax237

You're hyping a rumour nothing more. However, it was discussed that the next console will be in HD and 2011 seems possible since it will be 5 years after the release of the Wii and the life span is 5 years for a console. As for me, I don't buy a console for the HD. I buy one for the games.

The 360 and the PS3 still have nothing for me. I would buy them for the Blu-Ray player (PS3) or the XBLA (360).

I wonder. If the Wii is still highly successful - people are still buying games for it - why make another console? They already have a gigantic installed base, and are we really sure that people will buy a new Nintendo console when they've got a perfectly good Wii? Ninty made a point of taking themselves out of the graphical arms race. Why not stick with the Wii like it was the PS2, except without all the troubles of making a PS3 - if you get my analogy.

i didnt mean they actually HAVE to, but its in their best interest. if they dont, all of nintendo's loyal fans will move on to the next gen systems and stop buying wii games.. eventually the wii will stop selling and they wont have anything to keep making money off of.

so we SHOULD be expecting a new console withing the next 3 or 4 years, but nintendo will obviously keep the wii in buisness

Moving on a different note, I gotta get this out of the way:

Wii's graphics are fine. It has better graphics than the PS2 and the XBOX, and has improved since the gamecube. Wii's grahpics may not look as impressive at 360's and ps3s graphics, but the Wii has better grahpics than all of last gen's. Therefore, Wii's graphics are not last gen and the ONLY reason they're "terrible" as claimed by many is because they're just comparing to the other systems for this gen and saying Wii has bad graphics.

I dunno... Nintendo's loyal fans are by definition loyal. Hey, if they're willing to defend to the death a Nintendo-published game that's for five-year olds against those who don't like it by accusing them of being biased or saying they just didn't know how to play it "properly", then I think they'll stick with Nintendo no matter what. :P

Besides, loyal fans are only a very small portion of total Wii owners. If they moved on to other systems, that would be like removing a bucket-full of water from the Atlantic Ocean.

Check out what they're doing with the DSi. Even though it's coming out in Japan soon, it's being delayed in NA and EU for the sole reason that the DS lite is still selling well. They're only releasing the DSi in Japan because DS sales have slowed (since everyone and their pet already has one.) If Wii sales and Nintendo's Wii game sales keep going strong, I don't think they'll introduce a new system. They may be developing one now, but they will delay it until sales slow - why not, since the technology is already outdated.

I think I'll just play my Wii, enjoy it, and not worry about what may or may not happen in a few years.:roll:
