I hate the 3DS eShop menu layout, side scroll 1 at a time

wish you could scan out and see more options per page. it's annoying when you have to scroll one by one through the tons and tons of dsiware games. also the categories they provide you with are often meaningless because they don't include entire selections/libraries of games. there should be a category for each platform. instead you have to go all the way left, search, go to filter search, apply filters platform, apply filters, and to top it off the search is slow i found. just my blog

maybe its just because it just came out a couple of months ago and there isnt enough games to make it fully organized yet.

Nah, there are plenty of games. Actually I think there are more games than the thing shows in those little 'channels', because there is a Mr. Driller game on there that didn't show up the first few times I looked through all of the channels, and it came out a while ago now.

i needed a quick reminder of the shop..i havent used it much :P. im on a 25Mb internet connection. it would be nice if it was a bit more like the main menu system where i could have 2 or more rows of boxes. you can swipe though to flick through boxes quickly so its not too bad. however as the shops library increases ninty may need to rethink the shops UI a bit. put more info about the selected title on the top screen and free up more space on the bottom perhaps. i tried a few searches though and they were really fast on my system. it came back with results in just a couple of seconds. a couple of areas where i would like to see speed improvements though is the initial connection speed and the time it takes for title info to appear on the top screen. i dont know how it compares to the DSi shop but compared to the wii shop its certainly a vast improvement in every way imho (well..except in game selection but its only new :P).

I think the e-Shop is set up in a way that makes it less likely someone would overlook a new section or game, but an extra section or 2 wouldn't hurt. Something sort of like the Wii Shop where the main menu shows the newest games, and themes of the month or games you should check out, then they have the secondary menu for searching for games by genre, publisher, system, key word, ect.

That's something that would help.

It's not perfect, but I think it's better than any other console's digital shop. I'm sure they will fine tune it over time, but it is a huge leap over the horrible DSi shop and a lot better than the Wii Shop. Nintendo is slowly learning. I actually think the shelf thing is pretty cool, although manual searches of categories should be made a little easier to find. Right now they are tucked away in the settings button. I hope they add gifting soon (that's one advantage the Wii Shop has over any other digital store) and the ability to store credit card info. I would do a lot more impuluse purchases if I didn't have to whip out my credit card every time.

Yup. The DSiWare store was embarassingly bad. In that regard, the 3DS E-shop is actually kind of serviceable, although it's still incredibly awkward and painful to use. I have no idea how Nintendo is so unable to bring themselves into the present.

This. It's funny how they're praised for their innovation, even though sony already did this like 5 years ago (then again Nintendo did motion controls 5 years ago and now we got Sony Move so i suppose they're even...).

The design creates this illusion that the shop is actually full of this really interesting/fresh/cool content that you really want to try out and buy. :P

I don't agree with the reasoning behind this topic, but I agree with the concept itself. The e-Shop is rather poorly displayed, receiving the ambasador games shows that very accurately.

They should organize it like the wii store. Have one category saying virtual console, one saying DSiWare and maybe one saying now in stores. Then have sub tabs top rated, top downloaded, new releases, by genre, A-Z etc.

also paypal

Yeah I find it funny that Nintendo will state they are after the core gamer, yet setup the eshop for a five year old--an age too young for 3D. What the heck is with that music!? GET RID OF IT. Unwrapping presents. Wtf? If presents are involved, come december 25th, I better get something for free.
