Shortly after playing a couple hours of Super Paper Mario. It finally hit me. This is how Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be played on the Wii. I heard a while back that SSBB would not use motion control cause it would screw up the whole experience, which I think so myself. So I wondered how it would be played if we couldn't use motion control. Then I realized it. You guys think I'm on to something or is it going to be played another way.

I don't think there are enough buttons when just using the Wii-mote sideways.

The Wiimote by itself doesnt have enough buttons. You would probably need the nunchuk. The guys who developed  MK: Armageddon made it intuative ( spelling?) AND simple. There are multiple ways which you can use the wiimote + 'chuk with up-down, side-side, and curve motions.

no it'll use the gc controller, probably classic controller, and wii mote and nunchuk because the wii mote sideways is no way to play a game like brawl

yea... 1 and 2 could be attack and and special attack, up on the D-pad for jump ( wouldn't annoy me) A. Side to side on D-pad, makes you go left + right... down is obviously duck. B could be the shield button... and i dunno what + and - buttons will do. But i thought of that whole control scheme in 3 mins.. so i know it sucks.. lol

EDIT: Scrap what i said for jumping, you should just jerk the wii-mote towards you.. then your character would jump.. like i said... 3 mins.

No you didn't figure it out.

It will have a gamecube control option which meens it'll also use the wii-mote and nunchuck to make up for lack of buttons.

err i hope they dont make it like spm, how would that work in multiplayer...i mean it all seems a little dodgy to me, who would change it and when and so on. and you will be able to use the cube controller which i certainly will, and i dont know about the wii controller...... in any case i dont even have a wii yet, what am i complaining about..

This game would just get a lower score and would just be the same old thing if they used the gamecube controller. How will it be any different, I personally want something new that the Wiimote can do not the Gamecube controller.

ok this is how it will probably be like

the nunchuck's analog stick to move of course, C to jump, and Z to block/grab.

and on the remote A to do normal attacks, B for special attacks, and you can use the D-pad or move the analog and the A button for the smash attacks and analog stick and B for special smash attacks.

and motion sensing for the super attacks like when Mario made a huge blast that filled up the screen. like depending on what you do right depends how much power it will have and what the other ppl do to lower attack damage

you know what i mean.

I think that it will most likely be controlled with the gamecube controller. Holding the wiimote on its side wouldn't be good IMO; not enough buttons, and the inabbility to perform smash moves.

Dude they are not going to use a controller for a system that is not manufactured anymore why does that make sense to you?

They said almost a year ago that we might want to hold on to our GCN controllers.  That is not definitive of anything.

Yeah, I thought I heard that it was going to use the gamecube controller because it was to fast paced for the wii-mote or something.

Good idea they might do that. Also they could use the classic controller or the GC controller.
