I went to wal-mart last night(about 10:00), to purchase RE4 for the Wii(but there were no more copies:x). I overheard a Mom asking one of the employees if there were any Wiis in stock (not likely, especially this late). The parent went on and on about how her son was turning 13, and how he has been dying to get a Wii. It was funny how she pronounced it, because she always dragged the word out. "I'm looking for a WIIIIII". I glanced at the employee, and I could tell she didn't know much about gaming. She looked like she was in her late 40's(not like I'm saying age matters). The lady told the MOM that there were no wiis in stock, but she told her that she heard of a thing called Nintendo cube that was very similar:shock:. I was about to jump in, but since it was none of my business, I stayed out of it. The Lady said it was in stock and cheaper. All the Mom heard was cheap, and said I'll take that with no hesitation lol. This all went on while I was playing Lost Planet, and now that I think about it, I should have said something, since I was right there. I can just imagine the kid opening the box all excited, and see in big bold letters, GAMECUBE, instead lol. I would be so pissed if I was him.
That just shows how bad some employees are, you can't always count on them...
btw, I have a Gamecube too, but I got it a few months after launch

dont feel bad about yourself, it was none of your business and yeah i agree video game employees helping non gamers isn't the best thing... how was the lost planet demo, i liked it.

Your right.... I think I'd cry and throw the **** out the window:D
True theres a few good games but please. Not a Wii, no awsome controllers, no new titles. meh.
I know I'm a terrible sadist, but I laughed at that story. Gotta suck to be that poor kid, though.Abby88

[QUOTE="Xenophone_"]Dude, you did not live up to your moral duty as a gamer! That poor kid.
But yeah, on the otherhand GC still has better games than the wii. Still!

Nothing but the truth all around there
What do you expect? The PS2 still has better games than the PS3. And when the 360 was 7 months young the regular Xbox still had better games than it. It's like that with every generation.
HAHAHA! That's ok I had someone come up to me and ask me about the ps2 slim and I said yeah thats a slim ps2 and according to my cousin she kept talking...that'll teach people to try to talk to me when I'm deciding what game to buy. It was around christmas time...and this old lady was working the game section and she let and old guy take over and then yelled at him when we wanted to look at some games...apparently unless you have a parent you can't even touch an M game. Funniest part of all is she took the old guy aside and said watch out because kids like these will try to steal games. So we got my cousin's parent (I don't get why she thought we weren't 17 less than a year away) and she still said they need a parent or guardian...crazy old lady didn't want me to buy a game but I got it, and that other lady probably sat at the store for hours wondering wether or not to get the ps2 slim for her son (im guessing it was for her son). Don't go to gamespot its funnier to go to walmart :P .
That has happened to me before, I always jump in. You should be ashamed with yourself. That poor kid. That poor mum. But in your defence, that shop attendant should be FIRED. I don't care if she's old or not. If I were the manager she'd be gone by now. That is truly despicable. A Wii is in no way shape or form the same as the Gamecube. This happened to me when I caught my friends mother about to get my friend a Nintendo DS, when I knew full well he wanted a DS Lite, the shop attendant said it was a DS Lite and I was furious with rage, I went up to the counter and said "THIS IS NOT A DS LITE. DO NOT SELL THIS TO THIS WOMAN" Then I turned to my friends mother and explained the shop attendant was lying and that her son wanted a DS Lite, which looked like this *I showed her a DS Lite picture from a catalogue*, the shop attendant then looked embarrassed and said "Oh man, I'm so sorry I completely got them mixed up" (yeah right!) I then took my friend's mother to a gaming shop nearby and made her buy a DS Lite. If it weren't for me my friend would have got a Nintendo DS Phat! Can you imagine!
Those stupid uninformed shopa attendants should all be fired in my opinion, all they do is ruin birthdays worldwide.Bakahashi
umm...whats the difference its just a smaller version of the exact same thing.
i hate to be the bad guy but that kid should be happy he's getting a system at all for his bithday and if the kid new any thing about the wii he wouldn't be getting his hopes upfor getting one for his birthdaybecause of the fact that they are so hard to find
Don't forget, to be hired at Wal-Mart you don't have to have any qualifications, you just have to be old/retired/ethnic.
I have yet to see anyone working in my Wal-Mart's electronic section that knows anything about the surrounding products. Sadly, the same was even true at Circuit City, a place specifically for PCs; the workers there were so incredibly computer ignorant, it's no wonder why they seem to think $1,400 for a gaming PC from 2004 is a great bargain.
