so basically my ds lite works fine, but the A button is getting noticably softer when i press it, i mean it doesnt have as much resistance or as much click as the other buttons, i know its probably because all the play time i clocked in it because its the confirm button and all but... i try to keep it in such good condition but i guess ware and tear is unavoidable but im still kinda sadden by it, i like my ds lite alot. o well, is anyone else experiencing this issue?

o, also if anyone can offer up some solutions (i know its a long shot) other than buyig a new ds because i havent got the cash for it.

NO! STOP!

It's the only console that still has a GBA Slot!

:D

Get another one, and keep the Lite for "special occasions". That's what I did, for the GBA reason actually... but I can't live without portable "DOOM", "DOOM II", and "Wolfenstein 3D".

I'm having the same problem, but not as bad as yours. It is softer but I don't have to press too hard yet thankfully. And I agree with MonkeySpot.

^ Yea, but there are still great games that were made on the Gameboy Advance. For instance, I'm a Mario game lover and the one game that I would never want to lose the ability to play is Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga, which is on the Gameboy Advance. So, if he has games that are for GBA that he loves and would want to play sometime in the future then don't trade the DS Lite in, if he doesn't then trade it in.

Matters to some people (like me). But if it doesn't matter to you Guol, I would trade or sell it.

Keep it. Mainly because of the GBA slot and you never know when you want to play some GBA games.

its a bummer that the ds lite is so complicated to open, if it were like the psp, i can just open it up and rotate the pad around, but i watched some youtube videos of opening ds lites, it is kinda too complicated and i dont wanna risk it.

Hey... if yahz don't care about a GBA slot, then drop it like it's hot...

... sometimes I forget that other people aren't as cool with older games as I am. I got carried away. But you know, the GBA is FAR from dead. My nephew prefers it to the DS. I don't know why, I've let him play games on my Lite but he just prefers his SP and the games in his collection. And he, too, is a "Superstar Saga" devotee & general Mario addict...

Thre really ARE some fantastic GBA games out there which were never "up-verted" to the later DS platforms in any way. Like my iD Software treasure... and I have "Time Pilot" on another cart... GOTTA have "Time Pilot". I spent more money on that game in the arcade than I did on my college education!!! And "Pinball of the Dead"...

... wow, I use my GBA slot quite a bit for the GBA being "dead".

:D

This might be what you need, there's also other spare parts.
