I'm thinking of buying a wii but I just want it for the virtual console Does anyone else have it just for that reason? Don't get me wrong the wii is a great system but i'm more of a harcore gamer that's why I have a 360. But there are times that I just crave to play a game I grew up with. I don't want to have to find and buy a nes, snes ect. and the games. What do you guys think?

What I'm thinking isn't allowed to be spoken about here. So I won't.
Would I buy a Wii just for the VC? No, I wouldn't. Why? Because there's only so many games you're going to want to buy. Then only god knows how long you'll have to wait to get the rest.

i say just go ahead and get the wii for VC, and maybe one day you'll find games you'll actually enjoy on the wii.

well It would be hard for me to not only find all the systems in great condition but also the games. I don't want the hassle of going on ebay. It seems like most of the games on the virtual console are cheaper than you would find anywhere else plus I don't have to worry about always blowing on the game to make it work LOL!

and the virtual console is just an added bonus

Look up the games that are currently out on the VC and if enough of the ones you loved are on there then let that help in your decision. You don't want to drop $250 bucks for something you may end up hating.

What? First of all learn to spell Lord whatever your name is. I'm not saying the wii is crap at all. I'm just saying I mostly want it for the virtual console. Right now there are no games that interest me but i'm sure that will change down the road.

I would get it for the VC games but I suggest you look into some of wii's titles and choose to your liking. Otherwise, you're likely going to be dissapointed.

That's pretty much what I use my Wii for; that and GC games. I have 8 or 9 retail games and there are maybe 3 or 4 more I'll get, but Nintendo just isn't making any good new games for the next few years. You might as well wait for Wii HD.

If you are going to be a wii just for the VC then I wouldn't cause there are really not that much good games on it yet but you might want to be waiting for awhile to get it one then.

Unless you REALLY have a thing for classic games, I definitely wouldn't recommend the Wii for that purpose alone. If you're so dead set on getting the system, my advice to you is the same as it would be for anyone else with any game system. Look at the selection of games that are available for the Wii very carefully and precisely and see if you can compile a decent list of games (even look at the GameCube games, if you want). If you're being open-minded and still can't come up with a list of games you're comfortable with, forget about it. Anyways, I hope things work out for you.

I say just get the wii. Nintendo released all of the casual stuff to get more hardcore gamers (which they did) and are gonna start releasing tons of hardcore stuff now. There's also gonna be a ton of good 3rd party stuff coming like Conduit, house of the dead overkill, madworld, deadly creatures, etc.

This is exactly what I would have said.
