[QUOTE="-Despacio-"][QUOTE="blue-fish"]I see why they wont cut the price, but it's still a dirty-greedy choice. As much as Mario Galaxy makes me feel warm and loved inside, I refuse to get a Wii until it goes down at least $100. *waits patiently and glares at Nintendo*blue-fish
All the rave reviews of Galaxy are declaring it a revolution for the platforming genre. Gametrailers even went as far as to say the platforming genre was dying and Galaxy re-awakened it.
Matroid Prime 3 brought a revoultion to FPS controls on home consoles.
WiiSports has revolutionized the casual market like no home console ever before. When was the last time so many people had stories of their entire families playing a home console game together, even grandma and grandpa?
Seems to me the revoultion is happening, but you still have your eyes closed.
Woh now, lets not assume I'm blind because I don't think the new lock-on system in MP3 is a revolution in gaming. And for the record that last paragraph is my signature and generally unrelated to this thread. Wii Sports has revolutionized nothing, it certainly appeals to casual gamers, but that means nothing outside of the fact that it is acessasable.
And to all the people that somehow still believe $250 is a good deal: you blow my mind! A new version of the 360 is being released at $270, TWENTY DOLLARS more then the Wii. That is good price for hardware. I'm all for the new controls, but that is hardly expensive technology and it is added on to a slightly beefed up GC. We know this.
On top of that, the prices for other consoles have gone down with production costs, just like every generation before. That's what technology prices do. To still charge so much for technology that was out of date to begin with is greedy, I understand how they can get away with it so easily, but it's greedy none-the-less. Nintendo has money coming out their ears at the moment, they don't need to charge %90 the price for hardware that is %20 as powerful. So guys, I know you love your Wii's and they can be a lot of fun. But please PLEASE don't kid yourselves that Nintendo are giving their customers a deal by packaging a budget game with the system.
as all consoles go, everything will drop. Hardware gets cheaper, consoles get cheaper. The Wii's Hardware is about ~$250 and nintendo is only getting a very small portion of it. Xbox is taking a price drop because it has gained enough profit. PS3 is suffering a hardware downgrade. So stop making a complaint about these things. GC droppped to $50 because the hardware making up the GC went down, same goes with all previous generation consoles
