What would you like to see in the next paper mario game? I would like them to keep the 2D/3D stuff but make it more RPG and turn based again. That's such a good formula they need to bring it back again. Anyway yours?

i hated the way they had it.
Had what? The 2D/3D or turn based stuff?
Well, if there's a Paper Mario 3, I don't see why to keep the 2D/3D gameplay, it's not what makes Paper Mario what it is. Or else, Super Paper Mario would have been called Paper Mario 3.
I don't have any ideas for the "paper" gameplay, but I guess withW+N, an even more dynamic battle system can be made.

Well there was no Paper Mario 2 right? It was just Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. I thought that the 2D/3D gameplay was a good idea but might be better with the old mechanic and with more detail to it. Instead of the worlds being barren when you flip they should be filled with other puzzles, different enemies etc. Maybe even design theturn basedbattle mechanic with moves requiring flipping or something.
Well I liked the battle system for the first one but it needed more to it to make it feel more action like.
I also liked the concept of 2d/3d in Super Paper Mario.
So basiclly im kind of hoping for a way to have a battle system with a bit more action to it, while applying the 2D/3D element.
Also it wouldnt hurt to tone down the dialog, yes im looking at you Super Paper Mario.

Well, we can pretty much assume it was Paper Mario 2...
Anyway, one thing I'm sure I want, is that the next Paper Mario is more fleshed out. I haven't played SPM, but I feel like it's too focused on the 2D/3D concept, and doesn't expand it like SMG expands the gravity/spheres concept. And that whatever is made of the paper gameplay, it ties explorantion, puzzles and combat in some smart way. Real time battles don't hurt (although I'm a huge fan of the first Paper Mario) as long as some strategy, and the famous action command, are kept. Also, too much paperness would make the game too excentric, they should go easy on it, and make it easy to digest, like the first.

How would they implement the 2D/3D idea into the original RPG style of the first two games?
Would you want them to keep the level design and stuff from Super Paper Mario but when you encounter an enemy you go into the turn-based battle system that was in the originals?
I sort of like the old way better, but I wouldn't mind a new game like Super Paper Mario, either. Both are superb.
I would say a more final fantasy turn based style with more magic and moves. I think it needs a more mature story in it as well mabe team up with square enix and make a more traditional mario game and screw the paper idea.phantomblackedg
Paper Mario on GC was actually kinda dark to tell you the truth.

Paper Mario best game ever IMO:D
they need to take it place in the Mushroom Kingdom,Rogueport and Flipside but turn based in a paper thin world.
Bowser,Grodus X and Dimentio are gonna work togheter:twisted:
Paper Mario MushportsideFTW!!!!
I think the next main bad guy should be Wart. As its appearant Nintendo refuses to uses any other nemesis but Bowser for the main mario games. Wart is perfect for ?Paper Mario 4?.
I think it should be that Wart is destroy citites and villages in the mushroom kingdom. YES the mushroom kkingdom, youll be hard pressed to find a Mario game where you actually get to see all of the mushroom kingdom. Why not show some scope and allow you run through its big cities, small villages, and sacred areas. Wart is exploding these areas by using some sort of portal. Mario has to travel to get into one of these portals eventually in the game after fighting wart on his own terf and get him in his own deadly kingdom. Its like going to Mordor but in a less serious manner. Old bosses like the fat ass Mouse and creatures like that from Super Mario Bros. 2 should be in it. They should also allude to the fasct that mario and these old school enemies have fought before.
I would seriously love it if they brought in this SMB2 story back.
IMO they need to go back to the way TTyD did it all. SPM was just a step back.kieranb2000
Are you crazy? That game was awesome.[QUOTE="kieranb2000"]IMO they need to go back to the way TTyD did it all. SPM was just a step back.paperpower3
You are crazy why post in a thread thats more than a year old.
Judging how each installment of the series has become more and more visually degraded and less fun, I see the next paper mario being a one-dimensional platformer, where you play a red dot who must make it to the end of the line and defeat the green dot, to save the pink dot.
...And if the sarcasm wasn't evident enough, I can't stand the overly simplistic "square tree" artstyle and bland gameplay Super Paper Mario had. If they make a new one (which I hope they don't) it had better make up for the kindergarden attrocity that was Super Paper Mario.
i just hope they dont make another one ive always found the super paper mario games to be increadbly boring and repetativeBoxingTheStarsYou found the boring?I could not disagree with you more.
