You do realise Wii Fit does have games included, right?
Nintendo talking it up as an exercise program as well is just part of their marketing for the game.
[QUOTE="colin0606"]I honestly don't see wii fit as a way to stay fit. I have played videogames since i was 8 and i am 0% body fat. I think that people who would want to get it to stay fit are making poor excuses to replace physical activitydylankay94
ahhh,
you do realise that a very fit person has 10% body fat
and that BRUCE LEE had 1% body
and yet you still claim to have 0% body fat, u must be super man, or super anirexic
or a starving Ethiopean.
or he could be chuck norris :O lol

If Chuck Norris didn't like Wii Fit, Wii Fit simply wouldn't exist.
Seriously I don't see what the point of wii fit is, i mean i dont need to stay in shape with my mediocre video games, thats why i play sports. And the last i checked balancing didnt help any one stay physically fit, next thing you kno nintendo will have us running a mile on our bundled tredmill gameGally66
The game is like an interactive exerise video. There is more to it than the board. There is a lot more to it than the board. Wii Fit may not appeal to you or I, but we're not the target audience. They're aiming at a female audience with this for the most part. Men can use it too if it appeals to them. And it might inspire kids to go out and exercise for real, which would be great for them.
And the last i checked balancing didnt help any one stay physically fit,Gally66Not at all, but if you have a better idea on how to properly stand and balance yourself, then less fatigue and less chances of developing some problems in your later years with your back. Too many people are angry over a game that is not being targeted to them, and while you don't see the point in WiiFit, I don't see the point in your rant.

Do a search on Wii Fit here or system wars.. Then you'll realize you don't need to make another topic thats been done 50 times already.
i'm incline to agree with you...but the Wii Fit isn't being marketed towards gamers...I don't need Wii Fit to stay in shape, that's why i go running and lift weights...but if Time Crisis 4 comes out on the Wii, and utilizes the Wii Fit, then you better believe i'm getting itjohnnyv2003
The board is NOT 'Wii Fit', the game that comes with the Balance Board is Wii Fit.
I will agree that video games aren't the best way to stay in shape. However "fit" video games do exist. A married man from my block lost 40 lbs playing DDR, so the possibilities are there. One of the writers for GameInformer inported a copy of wii-fit and lost like five pounds in a few weeks or something.
So there is a possiblity to lose weight playing it. However I think the Wii fit ballancing board offers a whole lot more possibilities as far as gameplay goes. Saddly, the programmers are JUST getting used tot he Wiimote and nunchuk, and most third party companies can't do anything with THOSE pieces alone, let alone a new monkey wrench in the system.
I think its just another distirubance marketting move. It may not do as well in America as it will in other countries, but I see it having great applications if used right. I'd love to play wii game that combined all of its best qualities with the ballance board. I imagine if they announced the next Zelda game to require the ballance board, all you guys would be knocking down the walls to get one.
Saying that is like saying you won't buy Guitar Hero because if you wanted to play guitar you'd just get a real one.
Wiifit is a game, designed for entertainment. It aim is to provide you with a game that makes physical activity more accesible and fun.

same difference...it comes bundled together so it's the same thing...when they start selling "balance boards" seperately then i'll start using the right term.
i'm pretty sure wii fit actually works. i'm gonna get it and then you can all be jealous of my hot, sexy ripped wii fit body.MrPoo6321Not if I get there first!

 hah brilliant! Why wouldn't WiiFit work? If you're bringing some intensity, then your heart rate will raise and you'll burn calories, it's that simple. Combine it with a good diet and you're all set. The fact that it's a video game has no bearing on how effective it can be for weight loss. Yeah, you're not going to get ripped on it, but we're not talking about strength training, we're talking about getting fit, which is NOT the same thing.
And whoever said balance isn't part of being fit is wayyy off. If you do any physical activity at all, then balance is important for you, both for improving your performance and preventing injury.
0% body fat, don't be ridiculous! It would be insanely unhealthy to have 0% body fat. Some fat is good for you, it cushions joints and protects cells.

Considering that games like Rayman Raving Rabbids 3 and We Ski are gonna use the balance board, I suggest you start getting it right, for your own sake. :| Did you call a dance mat a DDR, or a guitar controller a Guitar Hero?Seriously I don't see what the point of wii fit is, i mean i dont need to stay in shape with my mediocre video games, thats why i play sports. Yep, I see about 7 'I's" in that post.
So, its clear that YOU dont see this game being a good idea. And thats fine. it's YOUR opinion.
But there WILL BE many others, as already seen in Japan and UK, that will liek it, love it, and be hapy they bought it.
umm no ones even trying to tell you to buy it...
PS. if you don't think "balancing" keeps you fit try some yoga, I do martial arts, and am anything but unfit... but that flipping well exhausts me
Wiifit isnt really to become fit, rather, its more of a give u a idea. It is merely a place to start at becoming fit,but a fun way at doing it. Its one of those give a response and u get feedback, like the wii's controller.Thats why i want it, plus i want to see what 1st and 3rd party's will do with the wiiboard.
And a new Time Crisis Wii.speedracer3190
oh how suprised your gonna be
