It most likely will get a 8.5. Whatever you think it will get, minus 0.5 and you have Gamespot's score. That's why my prediction is a 8.5... because it looks like 9 game.
I think System Wars would go crazy (of course), and a few Nintendo fanboys will spend a couple days complaining, but the rest of us will be playing the game and not caring. Besides, if Gamespot gives it an 8.5/10 then all the other sites will have given it like 9.5s or 10, lol.
I have always prefered IGN over GameSpot. I just think IGN is more professional.
GameSpot's review system is different from other sites. Read my blog if you want, it might help you understand why they review like they do.bob_newman
One review has never been enough for me to showcase a games score.
But I still think that GameSpot gives the games wrong scores. Why? Because they score the games so different compared to most other sites.
Isn't it more logical that many sources potentially are more correct than one source?
If it got a 8.5 do you think it will happen the same way metroid did by everyone complaining and stuff or do you think nobody would care since nobody likes gamespots ratingsmusicman748Since giving strikers a 7.5 i would really not CARE. plus the hype is really big and they only make great mario games like every 5 years
After giving metroid 8.5, i dont really care what scores GS gives out anymore.Ponmophells yeah after that review im not listening to gamespot anymore

sadly new super mario came out about half a year ago on DS
and it was awesome... if a bit short but still amazing fun
so with your logic galaxies shouldn't be that good
thankfully I disagree :D
and I haven't trusted GS for a long long time anyways, they've had too many discrepancies, and most of them are just because they couldn't be bothered playing the games properly

That's completely true, which is both good and bad. Good obviously because it sets a terrific standard for Wii shooters. Bad because when I try to play with dual analogue again I'm only going to be able to think how much better MP3 is. Oh well.

Sorry, but i saw no reviews saying how MP3 revolutionized anything :|
Metroid did not revolutionize anything other than the controls, and though they are smooth, other companies are probably already doing the same thing, or are about to. Nintendo has made a system that will revolutionize a lot of genres, it's more thanks to Nintendo than to Retro for the controls. Metroid deserves a 9 at the most. Again, I'm not going to get into it when my blog can do it for me. Just read it.
Back to the topic though, Mario will get a 9.0 or higher, I can guarantee you that. You can quote me on it, I'm that sure of it. They are doing something that Metroid did not do: reinvent a genre. Key word in that sentence: reinvent. It's going to be a game on a whole new level, it's more than just another 3-D platformer.

there are plenty of games that GS gives 9+ that don't "reinvent", heck look at Gears of Wars, great graphics but that hardly reinvents anything, and the gameplay was terrible, mindless repetitve shooting, broken up only by the fact they added a system of cover to slow the game down.
metroid prime may not revolutionise anything but controls, but since it did that it deserves 9+
I thought that Gamespot's Metroid Prime 3 review was the most shameful review in recent memory until I read Gamespy's review of Blue Dragon. Now, I've never played Blue Dragon, but I've heard its music, and the boss fight music is NOT "one of the most appealing pieces of audio ever heard." Trust me, I've heard it.
"Specifically, we're talking about the boss fight music, which is one of the most appealing pieces of audio ever heard. A stunning work that redefines tired hair metal, the boss fight music featured in Blue Dragon is reminiscent of the theme from the original 80s-era Transformers movie. Complete with your standard opening high-pitched screech that could easily have come from Guns 'N Roses' Axel Rose or Skid Row's Sebastian Bach, this track is a triumph of sheer out-of-left-field-ness. In all sincerity (but maybe with just a touch of sarcasm), the boss fight music is one of the best things about the whole game that serves the purpose of instantly and unmistakably alerting you to the fact that you're in for a serious battle. In a word (or maybe two): it rocks."

IGN review
Matt says: In fact, using the nunchuk's analog stick to control Samus through environments as you point the Wii remote to target with speed and accuracy obliterates just about every dual-analog control setup currently available.
Bozon says: the gameplay is more responsive and precise than any console experience to date
They both say: Gameplay
Spectacular. Controls better than any console first-person game before it
You should look a little harder even the preview says this:
E3 2007: Hands-on Metroid Prime 3:Corruption
It plays better than any first-person console game ever... really. And it's one of Wii's best lookers, too
This is called revolutionizing my friend.
In case you don't believe me here's the definition from Merriam-Webster.com
3: to change fundamentally or completely

Their review system has changed since then, if you didn't know.
Easy 9+ here @ Gamespot just the fact that it's an authentic Miyamoto Mario game. Shiggy is a creative genius designer. He's real picky about everything when it comes to his games. Give a valid reason why it would get under a 9 besides the typical "because Gamespot is bias" excuse. Miyamoto is all about innovation and revolutionizing. Metroid is basically more-of-the-same. Likewise for Twilight Princess.

I just got done reading your post & blog. You and I have the same mentality. When you get the chance, check out what I said above. I agree with you %100. Galaxy is an easy 9+ here @ Gamespot. And possibly Game of the Year. I'm sure you and I would agree.;) The Gamespot is bias excuse is lame and old.
Gamespot will give it an 8.0 or 8.5. They HATE the Wii a lot!!! Every other person in the known universe will probably give it around the 9.5s and 10s.linkrul3s
thats true gamespot is basised
