it won't happen, if Sonic becomes of Nintendo, Sega would disapear fitootif
Sega doesnt have much success with sonic, and its not as if Sega wouldnt get profits from Nintendo's sonic game. Sega is much more profittable from other games.
Sonic isnt IMPOSSIBLE in 3D, but using the same team as the 2D team 12 years after he switched is a bad idea.
Nintendo would make Sonic very responsive, but overall would eliminate most of the newer ideas (Shadow, Eggman) and replace them with the Sega equivalents (Robo-Sonic, Dr. Robotnik). Then Nintendo would make some Japan-exclusive game to test out the old ideas, and promise (hehe) to bring it to the states. This would take two years and would only be a lukewarm hit in Japan, so it would be a no go in America. The second game would be awesome, but would have nothing like the first game had, since Nintendo's new policy is to strip things down to simplier forms and let third party make stuff up as they go.
Like it or not, I appreciate having about one Sonic game a year, I dont think America would like losing its second favorite mascot for four years.
