Better yet, use all the money that they're getting from those massive sales to buy out several companies such as Sega, Capcom, etc and force them to make good games only for Wii, or at least purchase the rights to some of the franchises such as sonic. Also, do not allow anything, and i mean ANYTHING, on the system that ends with a z.

I'm happy with my Wii, but I am hoping that the addition of Wii Motion Plus make it the revolutionary councol that we all thought it was going to be. I mean the Wii Controler has allowed more immersive gameplay, but I wouldn't call it revolutionary.

I wouldnt change something about the Wii now. I would change Nintendo's past. I would have made Nintendo sell more consoles in the previous generations so that they had more third party support. That way they would automatically have done most of the things people wish they had done i.e hard drive (to hell with HD though, the graphics can be improved without HD - through actual effort, as Nintendo have shown). The problem is whether or not tha means they would have ditched the motion sensing idea or just made it an option rather than a main feature.

Really, the lack of a hard drive and better third party support is the only thing they need to improve. And they are working on a solution to the hard drive, while the support gets better every year, just like the DS. Other than that the Wii is perfect.

the one thing the wii really needs is a built in toastie sandwich toaster. and maybe a small freezer :P seriously...assuming were talking launch time and not what we would do with modern costs and tech. 1) a bit more umph in the GPU and a dollop of more RAM (say 128MB) + a 1GHz cpu. i do think ninty could have gone a bit further with the internals without breaking the bank. 2) allow ppl to play downloadable games from the SD card or any other external storage. im not sure if the firmware update next spring adresses this fully...theres some mixed reports on that. 3) a more organised and customisable GUI on the starting screen. imho there should be channels for the different platforms and wiiware and a list of games for that platform should be given when thbe user clicks on it. perhaps allow the user to create new channels and then move channels into those chanels (like moving files around on a PC). 4) not really a huge deal...but a little intro thing as the console boots up would also be nice. something to replace the warning message at the start.

i would be happy with just 2 additions to the wii's hardware:

1. decent internal hard drive (ex.5-10gigs)

2. more powerful processor

Why do so many people like this guy here give a toss how well it sells? do you actually own shares in Nintendo or do you just get a warm fuzzy feeling because you are in with the popular console crowd?:? I would like it so more games use the consoles potential like MP3 and SMG do, the Wii's potential just isn't being tapped into since Nintendo stopped actually trying.

Whatever franchise you like would not be made if it didn't sell

Add HD, wireless nunchuk, make more games that use the controller to it's full extent, different colors, fix the online, and make a type of recommendation type of thing for the VC games.

I'd like one of the two nunchuck buttons to have been analogue, possible also a button on the analogue stick as well, you know when you click it down.

I'd like to see an ear piece that connects to one of the wii-mote channels via which you receive in-game orders etc - have a look on IGN and the October Conduit demo level videos and imagine those ordes from that guy coming to you via an ear piece while the TV plays the in-game sound, make the experience more imersive.

All the rest like HD and a but more memory for textures and AI etc has already been said.

  • Load and play off the SD card
  • Gamecube controller ability to access the menus
  • No friend codes
  • Better 3rd party
  • Better use of motion controls (MotionPlus will probably answer that)

Full HD graphics

Dont think it needs a "hd", just more internal memory. Why make more heat and have something moving inside to break. Leave the SD slot for those that get crazy with the save files and VC content.

Wireless nunchuck

Allthough all this will be fixed with the Wii 2.0. :) Speaking of they better let you move your VC stuff to a SD then move back to the new Wii as like a one time transfer thing. But thats another topic for a couple years from now.

Better graphics, sorry but in the gaming world they are dated.

Not really the Wii's fault (well, I could make the argument but for the fanboys sake I won't) bette rgames. Way too much shovelware, way too many ports. I thought the Wii was supposed to be innovative???:?

Ability to load VC games from an SD card.

Better games on the VC. 98 percent of the VC is like 98 % of the Wiis library - it sucks

Better online. No Friend Codes. I'm a big boy Nintendo, I can keep myself safe from the pervs. Little kids??Well maybe they shouldnt be playing video games.....

Full motion control from the get go. Now old nintendo wants to screw me out of more money by making me buy motion plus.

DVD player. Not everyone owns a dvd player. (Thank God I bought a 360 or I'd still be watching VHS)

Backwards compatibil.....wow , nintendo did something right.

That sounds about right. Although I don't think the Wii has crappy online. I would take a universal name ID like the other systems over friend codes though. A nice 10GB hard drive or something would have been nice. They could have at least given us a 2gig flash memory instead of 512mb, even in 2006 that was a low amount.

Motion Plus will fix your first bullet.

Loading off sd card is coming this spring

your could by nintendo's lilltle wifi dealy that plugs in to your pc if you don't have wifi

Sadly online won't be fix until next nintendo system many of us have sent them emails about online and they just send you generic answers

developers are starting to take the wii serouisly now. we're getting dragon quest 10, conduit, mad world and a whole list of other

No disrespect but you obviously don't keep up on wii news becuase most of the things you want change are beening fixed according to nintendo

If you open your eyes, you may find that the Wii has a lot of quality and features that aren't in any other console. If you don't see it, then your eyes aren't opened because they're right in front of you.

More classic/gamecube controller support all around. I think that was the first thing that Nintendo dropped from the list, and it was the first thing that got in the way of the games. Gamecube titles had great graphics and gameplay, and once there was so much concentration on "balancing out" things with the Wii mote, the rest of game content would suffer

i think the wi fi is not very smart at all i dont see why nintendo could not have mad online so much easier by simply using a internet cable. the final other complaint that i have is the friend codes. these codes should be optional and only be used if a childs parents enable them. they create a big hassle when it comes to online and makes the prosses less enjoyable

LMFAO...Yes you are right. I was blind but now I see. I will support whatever garbage you throw at me Nintendo.

I bought the wii before I bought the 360. In fact I never even planned on getting a 360. There was so much potential there and I was really excited about it. And I was like you, after a few montrhs when people started bashing it, I said be patient.

The only thing Wii has going for it are 1st party titles. It's sad that SSBB is still the #1 (right now #2) game. The problem is that the wii is a sub par system (from a technical standpoint) so anything that comes out is going to that much better on one of the other systems. Without Mario, Zelda (a gamecube port), and SSBB, the Wii would have died a long time ago. Believe me, Im the first to say that I wish Nintendo could go back to when they ruled, the NS and SNES were my favorite systems. MAybe thats part of the problem. The Wii had some big shoes to fill, and its falling short.

I'll have you know that a big problem with the Wii is that it's too technologically advanced for many 3rd party companies. The majority of the companies aren't able to figure out how to handle motion sensing hardly at all yet alone proficiently. Many companies aren't able to harness the Wii's greatness, and some gave up while others are still attempting to figure it out.

I'm looking at your sig and appearantly it shows that the Wii is selling more then the 360/PS3, and the amount of time it took for Wii to pass up the 360 was less than two years, and it even came out a full year after the 360's release in N.A. Also, if it's all JUST Mario, Zelda, and SSBB as you say it is (even though that statement is wrong), well then it further proves one statement I"ve said all along: Nintendo can handle themselves just fine without 3rd party support.

I'd give it some better games. So far, to me, the only Wii games I see as worthwhile are:

No More Heroes

House of the Dead 2+3 Return

Geometry Wars Galaxies

Castle of Shikigami III

Tatsunoko vs Capcom

Blast Works

Sin & Punishment 2 (2009)

MadWorld (2009)

Fatal Frame 4 (2009; uncertain)

...otherwise, there's just a whole lot of garbage, shovelware, and crappy mascot rehashes/sequels. Needs more variety. Sure, it's selling incredibly well, but primarily to the non-gamer crowd. I want more games that appeal to long-time gamers.

I'd have to call BS on this... ask any developer, they'll tell you the PS3 is the worst devkit to work with. (primarily thanks to the Cell processor, not to mention a price tag several times that of Wii or 360's devkits) Developers LOVE working with the Wii, so I don't know where you're getting your information from. Most developers' problems with the Wii are limitations such as to processing power and graphics. It's like trying to make a next-gen game with Dreamcast-level capabilities.

wow im sorry but you are a word that i cant say because ive already gotten in troube with gamespot 2 times for using. just because its the best selling console doesnt mean its perfect the wii has countless things wrong with it that need to be improved. dont get me wrong i love my wii but there are some things i would really like them to improve on like graphics online play good quality games and many more. and how could anything hurt the wii if they kept all the functions they had now but just added some more i mean if you dont like a function fine dont use it no lose there because you still have all the other functions that you love. as long as the keep the price fairly close to what it is and dont take out any functions there is no way they could hurt the wii

I'll have you know that a big problem with the Wii is that it's too technologically advanced for many 3rd party companies. The majority of the companies aren't able to figure out how to handle motion sensing hardly at all yet alone proficiently. Many companies aren't able to harness the Wii's greatness, and some gave up while others are still attempting to figure it out.wiifan001
It's like trying to make a next-gen game with Dreamcast-level capabilities.

theats what they are focusing on the non gamer crowd, cause they know you will still buy it and so will the non gamers, so why would they change anything?

Why on Earth would you change anything?

It's the best selling console on the market today that's sold out for it's third straight holiday season.

If you were to change anything there's a great likelihood that you would damage the numbers it has.

I don't see the point in hurting the Wii

Storage Storage Storage. I've never understood why they would not allow for more storage. Especially considering how many downloadable games they were gunna make. Whether or not you think a console is perfect, which I believe its close, you have to at least agree that it has a storage flaw.

I'm fine with the Wii as it is. If I want HD, Multimedia, Shooters, etc., I'd get an Xbox 360. But, I have a computer for those sorts of things.

Wow...this is it cause I got better thingds to do than argue on the net w/ a 12 y.o. fanboy. Waggle controls are not "technologically advanced". Take a look at the iphone 3G apps store, plenty of people have found pretty creative things to do with that. Now motion control plus...that MIGHT be a different story. My fear for that is that developers (good ones) wont waste their time developing anything good taking advantage of it. But until that comes out I wont comment on it other than it should have been available at launch instead of making my another periphreal.

have fun playing with your Wii

btw, you were way off on my age.
