I don't understand the graphics comment. Are graphics really being judged in comparison to other system's capabilities? If it looks super for the wii, then give it a 9 for graphics. Don't give it a 7.5 because other systems look better. Stupid.
I'm glad to see this game get a good score (yes 8.5 is a good score :P). Even if it didn't though I would still get it because I've gotten to the point where scores don't matter that much to me plus I jumped on the whole operation rainfall bandwagon and I intend to keep my word and support these games.
It's perfectly reasonable to ask the question "How does this look in comparison to other contemporary RPGs?", if the answer is "Worse", even if it is physically impossible for it to be anything other than "Worse", then the fact that it is worse than other games in that area should be reflected in the score.I don't understand the graphics comment. [QUOTE="Sepewrath"]Hot dogs are great, especially a Nathan's. Its un American to suggest otherwise. Jaysonguy
Steak is more American, this country was built on steak. (god what a delicious foundation if that were literal)
The point being no one makes noise for second best, steak is worth noise but a hot dog?
The Last Story is nothing but a boiled hot dog, noise like this should be about steak and that's it.
you clearly don't understand the importance of hot dogs to society.[QUOTE="meetroid8"] Fairness has nothing to do with it, if this game has lower quality visuals it should have a lower quality score. Michael0134567The graphics should be compared to games like it on the same system, not to other consoles. It should probably be both, right? If the point in comparing graphics in the first place is to let us know their quality, then it's helpful to know what kind of games it looks better than and worse than. The reviewer is saying that it looks great compared to other Wii games but doesn't reach the level of an HD RPG. That can be helpful, considering the fact that a lot of people think a game like Super Mario Galaxy looks just as good as some HD games.
As for the score you might give based on that... I have no idea. I think it's kind of pointless to attach an individual score to each category anyway.

It makes no sense to give it a 7.5 in graphics just because it doesn't compare to games on the other consoles. We already know it can't compare,so why compare it?[QUOTE="JordanElek"]It should probably be both, right? Super Mario Galaxy and Skyward Sword are more reliant on artistic graphics than technical. So Monster Hunter Tri is comparable to games likes Final Fantasy XIII?But anyway,I'm done talking about this.
I don't know why people are making such a big deal out of that, what does it matter in the long run? It would be one thing if people were talking about being disappointed with the graphical quality, people are making a big deal about a meaningless comparison. SepewrathI'm not making a big deal out of it,I just think it's stupid.

SepewrathIt was the review that made the 'big deal' out of it by proclaiming it to begin with. Reactions on the board is the minimum, surely.
"Have you ever felt that JRPGs can be a bit… well, sterile? That you're essentially walking down a series of very pretty corridors dressed up as castles or forests or caves full of doors you can't open, knee-high walls that you can't jump over and enemies that can only be fought in separate, specially-approved arenas? The Last Story isn't like that."
Dear wallet, I am so sorry!
