I have played Wii before, so really, I'm not a total Wii virgin, but I have only really played a little bit of Brawl and Wii Sports. So how can I further justify buying a Wii? Are there some other console features outside of gaming that may encourage me? Basically, why should I want a Wii?

If you've liked Nintendo and their games in the past, and are interested in the wiimote, go get one. Nothing besides the games is worth getting a Wii for.

Wait to the end of next year to get one. It will probably go down in price again, and the 2010 library of games for wii will be very good.

i have wii since launch , played most of its games but cannot really recommend it to anyone compared to the other 2 consoles , if zelda , marios , family party & sportsgames , and few other are enough for you then get it , but you play a lot and need new and good single player /online games each month then this isnt the right console for you , be prepared to miss out all of this gens multiplats (if there is no downgraded wiiversion available)

I would suggest if the rumour of Wii 2 next year or 2011 is true, wait for that. Ahoardof games will arrive with the 'updated' graphics.

But if you cannot resist coming to the darkside that is Wii, buy Resident Evil 4. You wont be disappointed :D!

I wouldn't recommend one. Especially, if it'll be your first/only gaming system. There just aren't enough top notch games out for it. If it will be a secondary system then go for it.

I come from a non biased point of view. I own all current gen systems, and I've owned every console since the NES.

hang around this webiste long enough and you'll see a topic saying"Selling my Wii....."

get there info, offer them very little for their Wii, purchase it,and laugh about it afterwards

perfect ending: you come out good, and they come out............well.......just okay

Seriously though, do lots of research, as far as reviews go, of the games you'll be interested in. Nothing is more clear and honest than people who pay for a game and offer their opinions. Other than that, ask yourself if you'd rather have 'pointer and motion' controls or 'analog stick' controls. That's the biggie.

Hope this helps

It's time to stop perpetuating this rumor. There is absolutely no evidence that there will be a Wii 2 coming out anytime soon. So if you are going to get a Wii TC, then go get one and don't wait for teh HDee graficscal upgrayed!

What did you think of the Neo-Geo? Do you still own it? I'm thinking about getting one. Is the AES better than the CD based Neo-Geo? Which one did you like best?

Seriously, you just have to love the Nintendo games and you have to have friends that love them too. But if you're not into Nintendo, you might be happier with a PS3/X360 if you don't own them already ^^

Here's my personal Story:
Got my Wii about two weeks ago together with Wii Sports/resort, Mario kart, new Super Mario Bros and Super Smashbros browl. I got the system to play local multiplayer games and as an addition to my collection. I do enjoy Nintendo Games, but after all, but I just wanted the wii as Multiplayer system. ironically I ended up playing Kart alone to unlock cups, characters and karts because about half the content is locked and once I played with 3 other players (brother, girlfriend and a friend), it just got boring after a cup, Mario party 8 (my girlfriend brought with her) got boring after the first play together and new Super Mario after the first boss in world 2 :/ Pretty bad result IMO :/

Go to this site: http://www.metacritic.com/games/wii/ and look at the top rated games. Personally 10 of the top 20 really appeal to me, and that's why I own a Wii. The virtual counsol is pretty sweet as well, I've downloaded a lot of classics that I missed out on.

Check out the games and see if you like them, that's all there is to it. We can't really convince you, you have to convince yourself if you want it or not.

Owning every consoles since the NES doesn't make your opinion objective. I'm willing to bet I could list tons of fantastic games you haven't played. Go for it dude, unless you're not all that interested in the controls or any of the games people throw around here, then get a PS3. If enough games look interesting to you, don't hesitate.

Let me tell you now TC, these guys are what you call super hardcore gamers. If you are the type of person that will play video games a ton and spend after a few years thousands of dollars and probably have all the systems, then you'll want the other ones first. If you're not that though and do stuff other than just mainly video games, then you'd probably want a wii. The other systems' games are VERY genetic, for example one has mainly shooters for its good games and that's about it, the rest aren't very good.

That's what I call blind fanboyism xD If anything is generic, then it is to put one mascot in every second game you create and redo the same ideas over and over again xD there are plenty of special games on PS3/X360 as well, inform yourself before posting such nonsense

Here's a great start!

-Metroid Prime 3/Metroid Prime Trilogy
-Super Mario Galaxy
-No More Heroes
-Muramasa: The Demon Blade
-Resident Evil 4
-Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles
-Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
-Call of Duty: World at War
-The Conduit
-Mario Kart Wii
-Medal of Honor Heroes 2
-Super Smash Bros. Brawl
-Mario Kart Wii
-De Blob
-Madworld
-Dead Space Extraction
-House of the Dead: Overkill
-Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars
-Deadly Creatures
-Ssx Blur
-Shaun White Snowboarding
-A Boy and His Blob
-Okami

Upcoming Wii games to look forward to:

-Silent Hill: Homecoming
-No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle
-Red Steel 2
-Sin & Punishment 2
-Arc Rise Fantasia
-Pikmin 3
-Legend of Zelda
-Metroid Other M
-Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles
-Final Fantasy: The Crystal Bearers
-The Grinder
-Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage
-Call of Duty Modern Warfare Reflex
-New Super Mario Bros. Wii
-Super Mario Galaxy 2

Other than great games The online is also a great component overall. Yes there are friend codes and yea they are a cimbersome pain in the ass, but the online service is easy, efficient and free. Also, the thing that makes the Wii unique is not to be overlooked dude. The controller. It sells the system for a reason. Sure there are titles and devs out there that ruin the concept, but most games takes the potential and max it out, and there are always new uses being thought up. Now we have Wii Motion Plus which adds even MORE to the scope! Games that appear on all three consoles very often are supperior on the WIi due to more immersive and precise controls. I.e. Modern Warfare, Madden, and Tiger Woods. Then to top it of you have a price that's close to half of the the other system's price. You can't go wrong bro. I promise ;)

I am going to post my entire thought process on deciding to purchase a Wii.

"Man... all these games look really... bad."

"Wtf is this I want a game console not an exercise machine."

"I do like Mario though... and Silent Hill... and Dead Space... and Resident Evil..."

"You can play Pokemon online? Thats awesome! Its like being 8 years old again and your friends = the world"

"Mario Kart online as well? Crazy."

"Ghost Squad in the arcades was awesome, now its on Wii!?"

"House of the Dead 2 in the arcades was awesome, now its on Wii?!"

*Buys Wii*
