I have no plans to buy a Wii U either, unless one of these titles are announced: Star Fox, Fzero, Super Smash, and Mario Kart. Foxi911
Well, technically, Smash Bros has been announced for a Wii U release. It's also very probable that a new Starfox / F-Zero game will be announced, since none of them got anything on the Wii.
As for me, I won't be getting a WiiU day one. Sure, some games look promising (ZombiU, Rayman Legends) and I really like that ACIII, ME3 and Arkham are coming to it since I never got a chance to play them, but other than that I feel like the WiiU is kinda empty library-wise (Nintendo Land / NSMB U I'm not really looking forward to).
Also, I've been on a retro phase for the past few months, so for the next year or so I'll probably be spending my money on SNES / NES / N64 / PS1 games. By the time I finish my collection (I suppose around end 2013 - early 2014), the WiiU will probably have much more interesting things on offer, so I'll get it then. With that said, I'll buy every game mentioned above.
I'm amazed how quickly people forget Ubisofts launch practices.. ZombiU is going to be the Red Steel of this gen, count on it.WreckEm711
If that. I found Red Steel to be a more promising and appealing concept than what ZombiU appears to be, and even it fell short of expectations in the end. But to each his own, I suppose.
On topic, I've never had a console on day one. The closest to it would be the DS and GameCube, but I can't say I'm the type to camp outside and wait to be one of the first to own a gaming system. More power to all who have done so in the past and intend to do so with the Wii U, but for me, there's hardly a need to take such measures. I'm just waiting for the moment when the Wii U will interest me enough to get it at ANY point, and I suspect that by the time that it does, it will be cheaper and will have more than a handful of games that I have any desire to play whatsoever. My mild interest in NSMBU and, to an even lesser extent, Pikmin 3 isn't nearly enough for me to consider the system at this point, and that's really all I care about to the slightest.
Still, being a fan of Nintendo's works, it's hard to see myself not having one at some point. Nevertheless, I think I'll be able to wait it out for a while, much like I have (and am still doing) with the 3DS.

What do you mean? if you're talking about a switcharoo, they already did that. It was originally Killer Freaks from Outer Space. If you're talking about graphics wise..I don't see it happening..as what was shown looks to be decent (if WiiU cannot even display the current visual shown..Nintendo will be committing harakiri) its not over graphically pretty like the screen shot shown with the Red Steel.

Everything-wise, this is the exact same thing that went on at the Wii launch with Red Steel. Ubisoft shows off a "core" looking game with really cool controller use, blah blah blah, game comes out and its an ugly broken mess. Especially given that the game has been completely trashed and remade into something else in such a short time should throw up red flags, but people just keep taking the ubisoft hook :P
I will be buying the Wii U on day one with Fifa 13 and hopefully New super mario bros U if its a release title.

Has that happened more than once though? Red Steel was a one of a kind sort of flop.[QUOTE="WreckEm711"]

At least if that's the case we can look forward to ZombiU2. Maybe Bono will show up as a Zombie. One mess shouldn't permanently damn the entire company and every launch game they ever release. It's the exact same scenario incarnate, from the advertising, to the presentation, to the fan reactions. I don't think that's what's happening here. It's not as if WreckEm is having concerns simply because Ubisoft is releasing a launch game, but rather that this launch game shares similarities to a lackluster game in Red Steel and appears to be a game that's put together poorly, regardless of when it's coming out.
As they say, if you don't learn from history, you're doomed to repeat it. I think looking at it from such an angle explains WreckEm's point a bit better.
