I'm disappointed in the amount of selfish Nintendo fans lately

Hold on. That's not true is it? I thought it was just 2008 that they've announced all their first party releases for. Do you have a source for this?sicksteanein

Sorry, I meant up to 2009. (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/37265.html )

They didn't even talk about 2009-2010 games except for one (Sports Resort, yet another casual game.) 2009 is only five months away and they're not talking about it! What on earth.

Uh ok. But isn't that Nintendo's MO to announce games very late in the dev cycle?

It would be unprecendented to hear about games coming out in 2009 right now. The only reason they announced Wii Sports Resort was to showcase the new MotionPlus peripheral. And even then they only announced 3 events out of a rumoured 10.

One month before?clicketyclick

They announced Wario Land approximately 2 1/2 months before release, same with Advanced Wars DS.

And last I checked we have 5 months left in 2008.

I'm talking about 2009 right now. See my edit.

Yes, I am with you that there are no more games to be announced this year. But as the TC mentioned, there are a few good ones to still come out.

For someone who gets riled up and starts talking about "facts", you seem to have a pretty slippery grip on yours.

Well here's an idea, maybe they should start talking about and showing games a little bit in advance, rather than just one waggling game after another.

Yes, a few. That's the problem.

If they don't show games in advance why show Wii sports resort and Wii music? Both these games are way of so why choose to show these games instead of Wario Land or Fatal Frame 4 at E3?

If you people hate the Wii so much then sell it!! What's the problem? Rather than causing an all out flame war and pissing everyone off, just sell your Wii!

*siiigh* Because we don't hate the Wii and we don't want to sell it. We just want good games to play. And it doesn't have to be a flame war or piss everyone off if people would just keep a level head (instead of making assumptions that demonise critics like you just did) and debate properly.

I'm not sure anyone in this thread hates the wii. At least, not many.

There's a difference between hating something and being a whiny brat. It's subtle though.

There is also a difference between an valid argument in a debate and an ad hominem attack, the latter of which your "side" has been doing a lot of lately... According to the OP, Erebyssial, we're "selfish". According to Haziqonfire and Dr_Corndog, we're "spoilt". According to livinitup1 we "need lives". And of course according to you we're "whiny brats" ... and then DeathHeart95 scolds US for "causing an all out flame war and pissing everyone off"?! Well go ahead, pin that scarlet letter to our collective chest, but don't think that this approach is actually going to convince people to stop complaining.

Reggie said in an interview with GameTrailers that they've announced everything that's coming out before 2009. THIS IS IT. Want me to find the video for you and direct quote it?clicketyclick

Oh, before 2009. I thought you said including 2009.

Other publishers, like EA, manage to put out many games that interest me every year. Nintendo manages to put out many casual games. What's next? Wii Ballet and for DS, Vision Training and Face Training? Oh wait, those two already exist!clicketyclick

Many casual games? I don't see anything besides Wii Sports, Wii Play (a remote) and Wii Fit which are targetted directly to casuals. I listed in the OP the amount of core franchise games Nintendo has already released which outnumber the casual games easily. The third parties are the ones bringing out loads of crap.

They showed Wii Sports Resort and Wii Music because as they said after the conference, they want E3 to be the place to show what's new to the media like MotionPlus rather than announcing games.

Both Wii and DS are getting a ton of casual games from Nintendo. The two I mentioned (Vision Training and Face Training) are from Nintendo. The Wii looks like it'll take the same course as the DS as far as first-party casual games are concerned. You don't think Face Training is a little ridiculous? I don't mind casual games like Boom Blox at all, but really, come on. Face Training?! Sports Resort?! Wii Music?!??!!

That's dev time and money NOT being spent on the creation of new franchises. But I get it. Casual games are a cash cow. Mario games are a cash cow. Zelda games are a cash cow. It would just be nice to see Nintendo taking risks again like it seemed to be when the Wii first came out.

It's been said before and I'll say it again. Nintendo has ,at least, 10 IPs that bring in tons of cash. Most of them have already seen a Wii release:

Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, Mario Strikers Charged, Mario Party 8, Mario Kart Wii

WarioWare: Smooth Moves

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Pokemon Battle Revolution

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Donkey Kong Barrel Blast

Wario Land: Shake it is coming. Mario Super Sluggers is coming soon. Pikmin 3 is in the works.

Don't get me wrong, a new IP or a revival of a dead one would be nice, but Nintendo doesn't have the incentive.

That's not entirely true. Nintendo does have new IPs. It's just that they're all casual games. And not Boom Blox-like ones.

So I'm selfish because I've been dumped on by the company I've been supporting for over a decade? lol, DK Barrel Blast/ Pokemon Battle Revolution. Both of those games are a disgrace to their respective series.

If Reggie/Iwata honestly thinks a 2D sidescroller, a sequel to a free, casual game that came with the system and an N64 game with Voice Chat is enough to satisfy the hardcore, he needs to be fired.
