I'm tired of it too.
But just ignore it.
I enjoy Brawl a lot more then Melee but I can see why people prefer Melee over Brawl.
Who's arguing? What are you talking about?
I haven't heard people argue over the two games since Brawl came out.
So what are you talking about? Were you making these arguments up in your head?
Brawl does NOT have online. If you call that piece of crap, which takes 1/2 hour to find somebody to play, and then lags, online play than you are in denial. Even with the best connections, playing against my friends (who also had great connections) led to the whole screen freezing.
Well ok its not XBL but its something! XD! I'm just saying Brawl has more content than Melee. Sorry its really my friends who talk about. lolBrawl does NOT have online. It does have more content, but I wholly prefer the fast pace of Melee over brawl. I've played over 2,000 hours of melee, and only 390 hours of brawl. I hated how they made Jigglypuff's down b move useless, and how they made ganondorf slower and less powerful.
I played melee for probably 500 hours and was really excited for brawl but it sucks. Its like an updated port of melee and the new characters moves were horrible. The stage buldier and storymode were crap. Melee was so much better even if falco was way stronger than everybody else it made it fun

isnt it ironic that a thread about a guy who's fed up with brawl VS meele discussions actually created a brawl VS melee thread? :Psome people still think counter strike is better the cs:s and they always will just because they one dont like change and two glorified it and when something elsecomes along it doesnt matter its almost the same game. newer isnt always better but its not always a bad thing either......
Yeah "Roys our Boy".Well I haven't heard this argument much, but in my opinion Melee is better. I've played both of them to death, and I like them both a lot, it's just that Roy was my character! Now I've gotta settle for Marth.
wooooode

People just miss wave dashing and L canceling, they don't really hate brawl.Pyro767Generalizations and assumptions are fun. Oh,and here's everything I disliked about Brawl.Note how I don't even mention wave dashing and L-canceling.

*CIassic mode doesn't feel as fun without minigames like "Collect the trophies!","Board the Platforms!,or "Race to the Finish!" Just having the Target Attack alone makes for a somewhat less interesting experience. *Target Attack itself is less interesting.Having every character "attack" the same stages makes it feel repetitive, and I very much preferred it when the stages were built to each characters unique abilities. *The Event Mode is uninspired, too easy, and anticlimactic.I remember working for days to try and defeat all of the really inspired and varied events in Melee; it took me a couple hours,in one sitting,to beat all the events in Brawl. *The Subspace Emissary is terrible. It's actually worse than the Adventure mode in Melee. In Melee, the Adventure mode wasn't the best in the world, but the game knew its limits; it didn't try to tell a story (Brawl's was disjointed and awful) and it didn't try to apply the formula into a type of genre it wasn't meant to be.But you have to play through it to unlock some of the gameplay modes,so you can't ignore it.And it's the intended way of unlocking characters.Which leads me to... *The manner of unlocking characters is terrible. The game practically gives them to you,and you don't really need to work for them.Sure, you could unlock the characters like you did in Melee, but since you have to play through the Subspace Emissary anyways, there's no point. *None of the content is really that good.I mean, fan service is nice, but it's not like having a bunch of stickers in the game will significantly impact my gameplay experience. *I would actually state that the game locks too much away. Why must we have to unlock characters in Brawl that were available right from the start of the previous Smash Brothers games? And to take a page from the Yahtzee critique, advertising characters on the back of the box,and then forcing the player to work for at least a dozen hours to unlock them is just plain dumb. *The Masterpiece demos are useless.Too short to get any true taste of how the games will play. *Yes,the game has a great soundtrack, and I still pop in the disc to listen to it.But that doesn't change the fact that the sound design is inconsistent. Some of the remixes sound kind of uninspired, and placing updated tracks right beside original tracks from the original games makes for a less cohesive sound design. *The stages aren't great. Most of them feel either too basic and/or have gimmicks that aren't fun and merely get in the way of the core gameplay.Melee did have stages with unique attributes to them,as well, but almost none of them had elements that get in the way or detract from the core. *The online mode is bare-bones and lacking. It could have been great, but once again,Nintendo botches the online system of another one of their games.
:)I don't see anybody arguing, though Brawl is superior in every shape and form. Okay, so the characters move .0000001% slower, what a huge, massive factor that breaks the game. It's the same exact thing, only with ten times more content and better graphics and sound. Melee is an excellent game, but Brawl is everything Melee was but way more. The one thing Melee is more superior in is menus. The main menu music and look for Brawl is nowhere near as epic as it was for Melee.enterawesome
...I assume you didn't read my criticisms just a few posts above?
Most people who hate brawl are the tourney nerds who played on final destination with no items. Fox vs. Fox vs. Fox vs. Fox. They'd speed around all game and do their little movement exploits. They hate smash balls, they think that Brawl's slower speed makes it easier. They're idiots who don't know how t have fun. In Melee I used Sheik and Roy. Though I miss Roy I have plenty of fun with Ike. I seem to have a lot of trouble with Sheik in Brawl so I stick with Zelda as my main.
My biggest beef with Brawl:
Bowser's character redesign - scaly raptor (not elephant) legs, gradient hair, and more pronounced spikes from melee was far more badass IMO
Lucario but no Mewtwo - bullcrap IMO
I really wanted more villains (K. ROOL) Wolf was a great addition though
There's some more issues. Overall Brawl is basically the same expierence to me with a few differences and a lot more content.
The only reason I'd play Melee is for nosalgia, my old favorite characters and some of the character designs I simply like better.

so there's basically nothing about the game you actually like? Why did you give it an 8.5 as opposed to a 4.0 or whatever?Yeah until this post I didn't even know there was a debate. I guess there is now though. Brawl is slightly better than Melee in every way, so logically Brawl is the better game (although not much). Of course I only play with Kirby and he is exactly the same in both games (I've at least never noticed any difference). So for me its just a difference in graphics and content and Brawl wins that easily. Also the online works pretty well for me, it could have been better but I'm happy with it. Of course I have heard people say the N64 version was the best, those people are the craziest of all.

Melee is faster paced and has more glitches.OreoMilkshake
Glitches make a game good? I thought glitches were the very thing that The Conduit was criticized for.:?
