It basically has to do with the new idea which is to multiplatform almost every game. They look at PS3/360 and think they are both basically same so put this game on those 2. Then they look at Wii/PS22/PSP these are basically all the same hardware wise, so they put a game on 2 or 3 of those systems.

A lot of the games today are open world and want to simulate real life sort of so games like GTA, Assassins Creed, Resident Evil 5, Soul Caliber 4, that want to make the game have great presentations and still need the standard, so they can''t be done or would be awkward on the Wii. The games just mentioned have always been hardware pushers, and since the wii isn't that, it needs it's own game to show off what that system can do. If a developer wants to have download content, it is easier to do it on ps3/360 than it is on Wii. Yes GH4 will have downloads, but they probably need to work harder for the Wii version than the others.

A lot of these things are soley on Nintendo and what they want to do. Nintendo wants to keep that family image as well, so they don't want the games to have to be patched, or need parts which require downloading significantly. They want everyone to play with relative ease. A lot games coming out in the market don't have that image, so Nintendo does not want it.

If Nintendo would have come out with an 8GB hard drive, then there might not have been some problems.

Yes you can do things your own way for 1st party, but when it comes to other companies, they are in charge of what they want to do and it isn't just you anymore. That is why N64 and GC were somewhat lacking. If Nintendo doesn't start making some concessions about their views on some things dealing with hardware, they will continue to get the lesser version of the 3. If you don't have what 3rd parties need, then you will get shafted. They should have upgraded hardware a little bit more than what they did. They should have made a hard drive available, maybe not the big ones the other 2 have, but something none the less. They need to drop the friend code stuff.

Also the reason 3rd parties look to the wii as less, because the top selling games on there all the time are Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Fit, and a Mario game. The Nintendo userbase seems to want more simplistic games and not so much the other stuff, so 3rd parties are like " the game I am working on won't sell on that system" That is why Nintendo needs to advertise more "core games". They have the new people, but they need to start winning over some core gaming people.

Yes you hear the Wii is a successful, but it is only has been successful for Nintendo and not others with an exception here and there.

That is why, if you want to play games at their best volume, you need to save your money and buy all 3 systems. It sucks, but that is the way it is.

We have too many third part games. All of those developers are WAAAAY overimagining what they can do with the Wii remote. It's not as hardcore with that thing, in fact, Konami was a good example using little of the movement functions but still having it usefull and enjoyable, but most developers aren't doing that.

I'm honestly surprised that hardly anyone knew that we'd get a LOT of lack of 3rd party support. The combined revolutionary technology in the Wii followed up with the lack of graphics the Wii has in comparison to the PS3 and XBOX 360 made it quite certain that wii lack 3rd party suppport. I KNOW I'm the only one on these boards that knew from the beginning as well, but no one personally. :(

You should've all seen it coming I really don't know why you didn't :? Except maybe for those 1st time gamers...

You made a mistake. People KNOW that the Wii will be getting more 3rd party support not only because of sales and low development costs, but also the lack of graphics make it EASIER for developers to develop on. They are using hardware from last gen (basically). Obviously easier to develop for than newer, cutting edge technology.

Okokok. This board is flooded with "What games do you want for the Wii." Or "What games do you want to be announced at E3". I've become HIGHLY annoyed at fellow Wii gamers on this board the last week. Why? I'll explain.

In these topics I see littering this board, you all scream and shout for more Nintendo 1st party titles. Only natural, considering Nintendo is debatedly the best developer ever. Don't get me wrong, I love Zelda, Mario, Pikmin, Starfox, etc. as much as the next Nintendo fan... but is this all you want?

I think I've seen MAYBE one other person besides myself say "More games from 3rd party developers."

I'm urging you to WANT MORE than JUST another Zelda from Nintendo. Or JUST another Mario game. Sheesh. This is one of the biggest reasons people bash the Wii. "Awful 3rd party support." And maybe the reason is the Wii owners that ONLY live off of 1st party games.

There's many great 3rd party games out there for the Wii. (EDIT: Not to mention promising looking 3rd party titles in store for us in the future.)

Just something to think about. Any thoughts?

I do agree with you, we need an exclusive 3rd party game for the wii. But its easier for people to dream about franchises than to come up with an original idea that they would like to see happen. It looks as though most 3rd party devs are interested in pushing the limits of graphical design, therefore they go to the xbox and ps3 instead of the wii. I think that is the reason that people are really hoping the conduit comes through, because if that one is a hit, then other devs will look to push the limits of the wii.

I do want more from third parties

The main problem is that they treat the Wii and Wii owners with utter contempt by trying to sell us shovelware that even casuals dont buy. If more developers attempted to make games like No More Heroes, Iwould as k for more third party games. You cant blame Nintendo fans. They make the best games - its not them that is to blame for making GOOD games now is it?

Its not just people like you who have it all wrong either. The companies cry about their games not selling - but they are making games that SHOULDNT sell!

I want more comapanies like High Voltage making games like The Conduit, or Nibris making Sadness, but they arent doing that, and it is their own fault.

Why do I only buy Nintendo games? Because 3rd party games suck... I've bought some 3rd party games like No More Heroes, Okami, Guitar Hero 3, Medal of Honor: H2 and Sonic Secret Rings because they're actually good but the rest it crap... Now if only they ported Call of Duty 4, Orange box, Assassins Creed, etc I would be buying even more 3rd party games than Nintendo games.

Sorry it's the truth.

Lack of support was never going to be a problem, nor is it.

GOOD support or the right KIND of support is what is lacking.

Also, why does everyone blame Nintendo for shovelware? They didnt make it. If Nintendo are the only company making good games (apart from Zack & Wicki, No More Heroes and a couple of others) then it is realistic to expect Wii owners to anticipate Nintendo titles instead of 3rd party titles.

Actually, I enjoy third party title more than first party. I've traded in Brawl (got pooring fast), Charged (just plain unfun), and many other Nintendo titles. I'm sick of Mario! Give us something more! Like FPSs, they are amazing on the Wii!.

Its annoying how people are hoping for a new Zelda game or something to fall out of the sky but its not gonna happen this E3. In E3.net it shows the games that are gonna be there and I only saw Animal Crossing and Kid Icarus Wii. No Star Fox, No Kirby, No DK. It's a bitdisappointingbut at least knowing that gives less a reason to wonder in the forums what games will come out in E3.XDXDXDXDXDXDXD

It's a fake website, it's not the official website, it barely has any games on it anyway. They have all the same games listed for every website (give or take a few). Like Ds has Castlevania but then has everything that the PSP page has. What about the new kingdom hearts BbS for PSP?

Personally, I think more third party games would be good just so we can have more variety. The only good Nintendo games for the Wii are Brawl and Mario Kart (don't kill me, fanboys), and I'd prefer more things like MoH: Heroes 2...

However, the Wii will likely be starved for third party games because the Wii wasn't made for things like CoD4 (although if they made a game that did a better job with the motion sensor than Heroes 2, it'd sell like crazy), and it's games like CoD4 that sell. It seems that Nintendo targeted a younger/casual gaming audience with the Wii, and there's less money there for developers.

it seems to me that people who only own a Wii are the only ones that are completely satisfied with it for the most part. Those who have a Wii and one of the others find it lacking.

There is more than Mario Kart and Smash Bros. Try Warioware, Metroid Prime, or Paper Mario.

Wii owners annoy me when they hype ps2 ports and go " I wonder how -insert upcoming game here- will incorporate motion controls?" Most likely, it'll just have tacked-on flick controls, like ever other wii game.

On topic, I think a lot of wii owners are excited about upcoming third party games like Tales of symphonia, Fragile, Mad World, Conduit, ..But I wish Final Fantasy Fables: chocobo dungeon, Harvest Moon tree of tranquility,
and Oboro Muramasa Youtouden would get more attension.
