Get someone who has never played a Zelda game before, give that person Ocarina of Time and then Twilight Princess. Then ask that person which one of the two was better. I guarantee you that most are going to say Twilight Princess.

I honestly think more people might be in favor of saying TP if that's the game you let them play first. That way, TP doesn't present the feeling of being almost too nostalgic. Outside of the obvious technical-related improvments, I can't come up with much of anything that would instantly make TP the superior game. From a design perspective, OoT still very much holds its own well, and when it comes to story, characters, and overall connection to the player, I'm inclined to believe OoT still might be better, especially if they're given the chance to connect with that game before TP.

[QUOTE="AlmightyDerek"]Yeah most people who think Ocarina of Time was such an amazing game and that nothing else will ever top it probably played OoT as there first Zelda game. As someone who's played the series from the beginning I think ALTTP is the best Zelda and am more unbiased about the 3D ones which I think have gotten better with each installment. OoT was amazing for it's time but it has been surpassed by other action adventure games (such as Okami) and definitely by other Zelda games. I'm not arguing that its not a great game though and I still play it at least once ever few years.bobdood99

I found it surprising when I compared A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time and realized how similar their stories are... I'm curious if those who complain about how similar Twilight Princess is to Ocarina of Time are aware of the fact that the latter basically completely ripped off its predecessor in terms of story. :P

Everything is layed out for you in Twilight Princess, thus making it too simple. In OoT you had to find everything without much help. That's why people would like Twilight better...... Games this generation are too simple.bobdood99

That's a... rather subjective justification for why Ocarina of Time is better.

Yeah I remember thinking that OoT was basically a re-imagining of ALTTP when I first played it. In both games you have to get 3 items which allow you to get the master sword. Then you get transported into another dimension/time where you can therefore switch between the two to solve puzzles. After collecting something by defeating a boss in several dungeons you have the power to get into Ganon's castle and defeat him. Of course this didn't really bother me as it was fun to do this again. I actually think Twilight Princess is slightly more different from OoT than Oot is from ALTTP. Of course Majora's Mask is the most original Zelda since Zelda II and people are very divided on that game. I guess you just can't really please anybody.

I don't know about your, but I'd rather have a game where I have to engage my brain and try to figure things out. I was never stuck once in Twilight Princess.

I was never stuck once in Ocarina either. And if anyone ever did get stuck, there was always Navi to tell you what to do. I don't know why people make it sound like Ocarina was so much harder than games like Wind Waker or Twilight Princess. Maybe it's because people were younger when they played it, so they remember it as more challenging? Personally, I found all the 3D Zelda games to be fairly easy (and there's nothing wrong with that).

I havent played ALL of them till the end. Im not Zelda fan as well. I choose The wind Waker sinply because it felt fresh and like gamer was partisipating in an anime movie or something. Only by visuals this game got me into it.
