I'm curious about this, because most of the reviews I've read compare the game to Wild World. They say it is too similar, and thus it feels like a lazy effort. But how would you reccomend the game for someone who hasn't played any of the entries in the series? Would it be a worthwhile purchase?

to a person who have never tried ac before then yes. i played the gc version when it first came out and i loved it, but im having doubts ill get the wii version cause its way too similar to the gc version. i mean, even with the add on city and the voice chat, nintendo could have done a lot more to improve ac, but i guess next time then.

If you have yet to purchase an Animal Crossing game,City Folks would be a worthy purchase. For anybody whom already owns an Animal Crossing game,I would recommend very slightly if only because it has better connectivity support.

It is worth getting Animal Crossing: City Folk especially if you have not played any of the prior games in the series.

Go get it!

Yeah, having played all three I must say this is the best ac yet. Also, I really don't agree with the reviewers that say that if you've played the other ones then you wouldn't want to waste your time with this one. I've played all of the AC games and I still love this one. I couldn't even imagine how much someone who's never played AC before would love this game.

I did not play the other installments either but I really enjoy this one ~ I am glad I didn't because it makes the whole game new to me ~ Not my normal type of game but addictive non the less ;)

I've always wondered what you're staring at in your picture. Is that a pop-tart?

Yeah you'll be fine starting with city folk. Animal Crossing doesn't follow a storyline or anything so basically you can start wherever.

I still enjoy playing AC and I have played all of them. Your first AC will be even more fun. Definitely buy it.

Depends. If you're a hardcore AC fan, then I'd say yes, as the game hasn't really lost any of its luster, but it's basically the same game, with a few worth addtions. Think PSP-to-PS2 ports, like Twister Metal: Head-on: Extra Twisted Edition, and the PS2 verson of Grand Theft Auto: Liberity City Stories. It feels more like a port than a true sequel. Maybe even a remake, but that would be streching it.
