if it does, i bet ubi will do a sick job with the controls, and itll pwn. im still gettin it for ps3, but a portable Altair would be quite convenient hahaha
If it does, itll be too linear like a platform adventure game like Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time for the GBA. IF they do it 3D, then the free roaming would be restricted.
Well, on the GDC 07 ubisoft line up no DS version is mentioned but I could have sworn I saw that there was going to be a ds version. That can mean any of the following 3 things.
1. The ds version has been canned.
2. The ds version is in production, just not to be shown at GDC 07

Yeah, a DS version of Assassins Creed was announced. But as the user above says, we've heard nothing from it for some time and it may have been canned.
well, apparently its going to come out on the ds eventually, i really hope the do a good job with it
and i was TOTALLY bummed when Halo DS got canned, however, deep down inside of me im hoping that they will ressurect the idea and hopefully make it a reality. A game like that would bring in the bucks. Just imagine the amazing story that MP:hunters lacked, and the amazing wifi play
After deep digging I found at it looks like it is inthe making but we will have to wait till 2008. It has a somewhat release date of 2/5/08, that's what gamestop said along with other people. No one real knows for sure there is already box art and you can preorder it, but when this little is known about it who is going to do that? All I can say is if it comes out and is 2D I might not get it, if it come out and is 3D I will get it as fast as I can.

I thought Ubisoft pulled off Splinter Cell for the DS quite well. They only needed to improve the frame-rate for it to have been really awesome. But I don't know if they'd be able to do an open world game like AC, but who knows.
