I'll say one thing. Why do they always ask me if I want the 5 free lives at the beginning? OF COURSE I WANT THEM! Who on earth ever says no? Bread_or_Decide

Me. Always. I like more of a challenge. Too bad I still only got one Game Over throughout the entire game (and I mean that literally). Something like the original Super Mario Bros.' harder difficulty after beating it would've been nice. The changes in Mrio Galaxy in the second playthrough still aren't challenging enough.

Someone finally agrees with me. Everyone called it "game of the year" but It just doesn't give me the "WOW" feeling like I can get with other games. I currently have 53 stars but I just don't have enough motivation to get those last 7 stars.

If SMG was repetetive I wouldn't still be playing it.
If you track me, I'll track you right back.

I'm up to 100 stars in Luigi mode, which adds up to 220 stars total: I'm nowhere near bored. Galaxy is great; if you want to diss it, feel free, but don't try to get empathy, because you won't get it.

i think i might understand you feelings.. (not really) but if its what i think... your life should get boring to you in about 24-25 days- why? cuz its repetitive!! you always go to bed and sleep then you wake up.. everyday you eat and go to the bathroom.. just like mario goes to the obserbatory and then to diff galaxies to recolect stars.. and also: everday talk is repetitive! you just say words over and over again (like the stupid toad things that you rescue)!!

PD: dude you only have 25 stars.. you havent really LIVED the game(if you know what i mean.. :P

Not really, you learn and have new experiences all the time. At least I hope you do.

YES!! of course i do! im not antisocial or anything.. i just was saying that the "repetitive" point he made on galaxy doesn't have a real POINT. i mean with the examples he gave: ("Go to the observatory place to pick your level (or star to go for, or whatever), you go to get it, once you get it you come back....Same procedure." sooooo WHATS THE GAME ABOUT?!)

anyways I didnt meant to be rude.. or sound stupid or pointless or anything..

and: actually yes.. (you eat and go to the bathroom every day.. at least i hope you do :P )

Hmm... TC I guess this just isn't the game for you. I just finished with Mario and was never bored during the WHOLE play-through, in fact it's one of the most fun games I've ever played!

But you play games for fun. So if your comparing the game to the mundane parts of life, you just make the game seem mundane.

Now if your comparing a game you think is fun to going to the bathroom, then your having too much fun in the bathroom. :P

Galaxy never got boring for me...i beat the game with 120stars and the level design was just fantastic...An advice i would give is try to unlock as many galaxies as you can at a time..Playing 1 galaxy over and over to get all the initial stars in it might be a little repititive..Its good to mix things up..

Personally, I didn't think it was repetitive enough. I mean, I would've liked to have seen the same level for each star, same enemies, and same objectives 120 times. That would be a sweet game.

But I agree, it does get repetitive. I think the problem was that the observatory felt like a hub instead of a stand-alone level. In Super Mario 64 you could go outside of the castle, on top of the castle, and into dozens of rooms. you could also collect some stars in there, and it was full of hidden secrets. Galaxy's hub had none of that.

Honestly, I don't know why they didn't make the observatory more fun. I mean, you see the observatory more often than any other level, so why not flesh it out a little, give us something to do out there? I thought that even Mario Sunshine had a better hub, and that one wasn't too great either.

But Galaxy still kept me entertained pretty much the whole way through. A little too easy, but what can you do?

Yeah, the game was easy except for the Toy Time purple coins star.

I did find the game a little repetitive not only because I did a bunch of purple coin stars in a row, but because of the daredevil and speed run stars. The daredevil/speed run stars felt repetitive because you basically do the same star over again, but with a time limit or lower health, which felt uncreative in my eyes. If you decide to unlock the final galaxy, the game would get really repetitive because you would basically do every single star twice, making it feel like 4 times for the speed run/daredevil stars.
