Crystal Chronicles looks amazing. That alone should be reason enough for a purchase.

In Oct/Nov alone you get zelda, Ninja Gaiden, Contra 4, Call of Duty 4 and Ultimate MK3 with wifi. Get yourself a DS and an R4 ASAP!

The worst thing that could happen to you after getting a ds is that you lose both of your hands and/or eyes in an unrelated accident, rendering you incapable of using it, therefore making the purchase pointless. Picking up a snes for $20-$30 is still worth it if you don't know how to use emulators or have a wii. My point? Any system is worth buying if it has plenty of good games you can only play on it. And guys, if your gonna recommend getting an r4 after naming a bunch of good games, at least explain what else it could do or you'll give people the wrong idea (argh!).

go for it. also, you can still play it even if it stops getting new games. I still play my NES and that came out 20 years ago.

When somebody jumps the gun on buying a new system, they run out of games to pretty fast. At this point though, the DS has accumulated such a robust library that it'd be the perfect time to grab one. You've got a wide selection to go from already as well as tons of more great stuff to come.

The DS has only been out for about 2 years. You have nothing to worry about. I would still recommend a DS even if it was on its way out. Popular systems like the PS2 still have games being developed for it, well past its shelf life. It was the same way for the PS1, the GBC, and the GBA.

No way, I would say its the perfect time to get a Nintendo DS. With Zelda, Contra 4, and FF:CC almost here and Kingdom Hearts: 358/2days just announced, DS got a long life ahead of it still.
