Is it true the Ds lites get broken after a short time?

hi everyone. i just got a ds lite(pink). and after i brought i read on some other gaming forums that the hinges on ds lites break after a short time(like 3 or 4 moths after getting it). i would like to know. is this a common problem with ds lites. and have any of you had any broken hinges on your ds lites

i also have another question. im currently living in asia. so when i go back to the states during summer vacations. how can i charge my ds lite? will i need to buy a 110v charger. or buy a transformer?

I think it's somthing like 0.01% may get a broken hinge. So you dont really need to worry. Ive had mine for a year and a bit and mine is fine.

As for charging it, i live in Ireland but got mine in america and i use plug adapter and a transformer together, its a hassle but it charges ok. Hope i could be of some help :)

Sigh the broken hinges were on launch units of the white model. It's a manufactorer error hence why Nintendo started to replace the affected units for free.

Nope, I wouldn't believe it. The condition of the DS depends on the owner. I've had my black DS lite for a year and it still works perfectly fine.

My 7 y.o. son and I play the heck out of our ds lite and have had no problems with it.
