IS the DS worth getting!?

i'm 17 and was thinking of geting a DS for Xmas? I want pokemon (lol) are they good? i gt a PSP already!

I asked the same question on these forums some days ago.. with the majority of the answers being yes (thanks to all of them) i am now the owner of a DS and pokemon pearl. Pokemon pearl its amazing, i thought it was going to suck but i was wrong, i now have mora than 20 hours of gameplay and im nowhere near the end.

And about the games.. im waiting for Zelda and heres a list of games i want to add to my collection..

Megaman Star Force (Big fan of series)

Nintendogs

Mario Kart

Phoenix Wright (the first one)

Star Fox Command

New Super Mario Bros

And others..

I also used to have the PSP and although it is better in the sense it uses more technological innovations and has more media options, in my opinion the hours of gameplay it offers are not comparable to those the DS offers.

It depends on what games you like.

The Pokemon games are pretty fun, but still pretty repetitive. If you haven't played the others though, it should be pretty awesome.

Their are lots of other good games too, like Final Fantasy III and Star Fox.

Over all, I'd say it's worth it. You may start to play it less and less later, but when the good games come out you won't be able to put it down.

But yeah,get one.You (probably) won't regret it.I didn't think the new Poemon game was much chop.Animal Crossing was muuuuuuuuuch better.Red and Blue > Peral and Diamond.

i mean, check the game recommendation thread and you'll see all the games that have come out already that people love to death. And that's not really even the half of it because there are so many awesome games coming out starting like last week through next year that if anything, now's the greatest time to ask for one.

Yes, you definately should indeed get one...I have one, so this is my second year owning it..I know ppl who have a PSP and still want one of these bad boys...I dont know, it's just the feeling of having one, u feel soo special..lol..and even tho you're a teenager like me, this brings out the childish side of you...but I already know something better than this is comming out later jus like the PSP, there's a new one of PSP and its slimmer...But I will always love this system...even tho the graphics arent "AMAZING", the games are still very very fun...so yes!!...get it!!

I own both systems, and although I love both, I'd have to say that the PSP has A LOT more high quality/interesting games. I have 90 PSP games, and 10 DS games...and there are only 5 more DS games that I want (yet to come out), while there are at least 20+ more PSP games I'd like. I'm 20yrs old (21 in a month), so PSP just catches my attention more as it has more games geared towards what I like. Don't get me wrong though, the DS is an awesome system from what I have so far...I'd just like to see more than 20 or so awesome games come out for it, while the PSP has over 100+ awesome games...for my interest level anyways.
