Is the Virtual Console safe cauz my parents don't trust putting their credit card numbers on the wii because they think they might steal money and i can't convince them. So what can i do to convince them and does it really do anythin to ur credit cards???

Cause i seriously want to download Zelda: Oot.

Buying with a credit card online is just as safe as in-store. If you swipe a card at any store, the info is transmitted just like it would be if you entered it at home. Wiis cannot get snooped or get a trojan so it is safe. Hackers go for banks. Thats the only way to get card info.

It's a website made by Nintendo, It couldn't be more safe. Nintendo wouldn't screw you over like that...

You can always buy Wii Points in stores if your parents aren't comfortable with it. Go to Best Buy/Gamestop/EBGames etc. to buy points. Then you don't even need a credit card...I'm sure your parents just don't know enough about how the VC Shopping Channel works, right?

Its very safe because the Wii doesn't even save the credit card infro. And of course it takes money because you're paying with it... or buy it in store, unless your in canada, which in case get the credit card any way you can!!

Next stop on the paranoia express... How long would Nintendo stay in business if the Wii stole your credit card number?

That would be crazy sketchy. At least we'd be able to throw them a class action lawsuit.

I've never had a problem and the good thing here in GA is that by doing it this way, NO TAXES!!!!! Go by a WiiPoints card and you get taxed. But it safe, see the transaction show up a day or so later. Matter of fact, I need to go by some more after I finish DKC 2.

it's no different from buying in a store, and to top that Nintendo is a top player in the electronics market. They've been around the gaming business for over 20 years, stealing money would be ridiculous from any stand point.

In Washington it's the opposite. Nintendo will ding you for sales tax when you buy Wii points online, they know I live in Washington because I have to enter the zip code associated with my credit card's billing address. I buy Wii points cards in Oregon where they have no sales tax.

Weren't we talking about parents trusting Nintendo? Trusting a company with your credit card is safe, trusting your kid with your credit card, might not always be a good idea. I'd never give my credit card to my kid. Even if I trusted them, I don't trust their friends.

Isn't that way more expensive with the gas consumption anyway?

No, I go to Oregon for work three times a week, so it's worth it for me. Naturally, if you lived in Seattle or Spokane, you'd have to buy a ton of Wii points to make it worth driving to Oregon, but not if you're going there anyway.
