I don't think that the Wii is just for the rich people. You must be able and willingly to pay some real money, to have some particular games. But Nintendo's new strategy is to reach as many families as possible. Its a family machine and no longer just a console for the hardcore gamer. Families, especially parents, are able to spend more money on games then young children or students for example.
In the meanwhile I think the hardcore gamer has less to choose, is spending less on Wii games. But that's another discussion. I do like Nintendo because of the many different genres and games they offer. But the new approach (the family thing) means that games are getting more en more easy to play and give less challenge to hardcore gamers. Still, I prefer the Nintendo offer above other consoles. However, lately I'm more interested in other consoles as well.
