I was just wondering, do you know and have links to how many units the game has sold? Is it selling quickly and quite well, or one of those "3rd party gems" that not many notice?

I'm asking this since the game cant be found at anyplace where I'm from, and they say that the game's all sold out, and none are left for import. Of course they said by next week there might be a better chance to get them.

So yeah is it doing well?

it is selling quite well, but it isn't my kind of game so i am not going to buy it. it does look very fun to the right kind of person though.

It's good to know the game is selling good. More of a chance for a sequel if Square Enix ever make one.

But I still think they shouldn't have released the game the same week as Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2. Never release a DS game the same time a Pokemon game is being released.

Square Enix probably tried to get revenge when Nintendo purposely released PMD2 the same day as Crisis Core in Japan to steal its sales.

Actually it was smart to release the game at the same time.

Since The World Ends With You is a relatively unknown game they can use all the help they can get. Pairing their release with Pokemon means that they'd have the most store traffic possible in the DS sections.

It hardly matters, considering 90,000 copies sold in two weeks for a Square game is downright shameful. FF III sold well over 600k in its first week, Revenant Wings 300k; I highly doubt SE will bother designing another TWEWY, considering it did so awfully. It would be much more profitable for them to just remake another game.

No, and you'll see why what you said up there wont help

In the same time in the US The World Ends With You has been outselling Final Fantasy Revenant Wings and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. It gets better though, the sales for this unknown new franchise worldwide has been over a third of a million units so far.

What does this all mean? It means that The World Ends With You is selling better then some of Square's main franchises.

If that's shameful I bet Square hopes they can make a lot more shameful games in the future.

Hello TWEWY is a new IP unknown to most gamers. I doubt it even had advertising. FF III and RW are well you know FF games!!

It's a new franchise designed from scratch without major names to help it like with KH. For a DS title where the returns only have to be slight it's not bad. You also have to consider that many of the DS's most cultish titles like TC and PW gained momentum over time via word of mouth rather than simply exploding onto the scene and then diminishing into obscurity, I think by now publishers have gotten used to the inverse way DS games sell.

Wow... I forgot to consider the Wonderful World title, I'd just looked at TWEWY, lol.

Mhm. Taking that into account, then I bet they will.

None of the stores in my area had it. A guy at EB said that a bunch of people there wanted it but it sells out immediately. I ordered a copy online but I probably wont get it till monday at the earliest.
