Is Wii Party the new Mario Party?

Cause I don't really understand where the Mario Party series is going at this point. Wii party comes out in a few days in Japan i think...

I think Nintendo needs to go back and redo the whole Mario Party franchise.

mario party needs to be done with wiimotion plus. That way, itll be better and itll put more wiimotionplusses out there for other games to take advantage of because it WILL sell well.

It also has to go back to its roots. In the first or second mario party, each map actually had a theme and each character would be dressed up in costume according to that theme. When sequels dont even look like an improvement in terms of production to its prequels, its time to rethink some priorities with the games. The producing company has to put more thought into the minigames. no more shake the soda can, swing the controller at the right time. They have to be real mini games, not just tech demoes passed off as minigames.

I say make Nintendo Party instead of Wii Party or Mario Party. It would be like smash bros except mini games. The boards could be themed after areas from zelda, metroid, mario, etc etc.

It might be. And it may as well be. If it's of a similar quality as Mario Party, then Mario Party isn't needed. I don't see the need to stick Mario on everything. If Miis work, then use miis. I'd rather use my Mii than a Mario character anyway.

Maybe I can create a lot of Mario character Miis for this game...

It might not be so bad if the Mii's had more customization options. Moustache or no moustache? As it stands right now, its a joke.

I'm sure there's going to be a Mario Party reboot on the next Nintendo console.

I hope so :( number one to about 4 were great, heck I didnt even mind them up to 8 as long as the mini games were fresh.

when the blazin' heck are they gonna release 1 and 2 for VC ... that's all I really want.... I really doubt they would make a new mario party that I would like better than these 2 anyway. As it seems it just keeps getting progresively worse
