Issues with 'Metroid: Other M' debunked

The new Metroid game looks extremely interesting, and I think a change of pace is good for Metroid. But many still have issues with what it will do with the series.1. 'SHE SHOULDNT SPEAK!'Text dialog from Super Metoid disagrees.2. 'it's like hearing Gordon Freeman speak!'Half-Life wasn't born in the NES age, it was born in an age which had voice acting and cut scenes (and way too many of them) and it's creation was unique and the experience it gave players was unique, if anything Retro copied what Valve did rather then make it artistically original like Half-Life first did. Metroid was born in a 2d age and how it is interpreted into 3d is up to the team that is working on it at the time.3. 'Metroid should only ever be a FPS' (while in 3d)Personally, I think a 3d third-person game (action/adventure/shooter/etc) is more like the original 2d games. Think of Mario, that is third person, you see your character in Mario and I don't have a problem seeing the character in Metroid either. Sure the original Mario was a platformer while Metroid is more of an action/adventure, but both where side-scrolling, but how anyone defines FPS as a more 'pure Metroid' game is beyond me, since the action/adventure aspect in Metroid can still be perfectly fine while in third person.Retro's interpretion of Metroid was amazing, I don't think anyone is doubting that, but why can't another source have a go at it? No doubt Nintendo will be in every process that happens when making this new game, so their (Nintendo's) vision of Metroid will never die and obviously their vision of what Metroid can be is beyond Retro's work.Overall it looks like this will be a more Japanese version of Metroid rather then having the American influence that Retro gave it. Samus is shorter, thinner and from what can be seen of her face (and everything else) is less European then what is normally Samus. I personally did like the older version (looked more like she really could kick arse), but I also like a change and personally love how artists place their own mark on the franchise (since in additions to the series don't remove the old ones, the non-talkative Samus of Retro's game isn't removed or forgotten now that Team Ninja is making a game).As long as Team Ninja doesn't put their 'Dead or Alive: Beach Volleyball' mark on the game (a.k.a. make characters unrealistic) then I will be fine with the new Samus. And I don't think they would with Nintendo's heavy involvement, and with the fact that Itagaki is gone.

I'd rather have Ubisoft or Activision with it, the only HVS game that has me intrested is Conduit, the others, not so much.

did you say ACTIVISION?? FOR REAL???!!!

The only thing I dont like about it so far is the first person parts and the JRPG style of the graphics. I HATE that. It looks like a Final Fantasy game. I enjoy the western style of retor much more.

What about Link? He never talked, but he kept it well enough.

link stories are epic no deep.Metroid stories are heavy in the dialogue and back stories(Play metroid games for reference)

I think its really lame to complain about Samus actually talking. I think the TC makes a good point. She converses in the NES games, so stopping her from talking is anything but keeping true to the series.

Its a different situation than Zelda where I cannot recall Link even having dialogue.
