...Really? Did Brawl just dissapear off the face of the Earth. Don't get me wrong, NMH was...second best, and was still a great game...but why?
Gamespot does really crazy things sometimes...
Btw, I don't know ANY casual gamers which enjoy the hardcore games I enjoy (Contra, Gradius, GGXX, Phantom Dust, Ninja Gaiden Black...) and I don't enjoy any of the casual games my casual friends enjoy (Mario Kart, Halo, Smash, 3D Zelda, 3D Mario, Mario Party...) So.... come again?
Zweihand
I happen to know someone who enjoys all of Contra, Gradius, Mario Kart, and Super Mario Galaxy; that person would be me.

That's because hardcore players play everything, you dabble all over the place
"Fake" hardcore's play only certain things

I enjoy playing all those too :DI'm absolutely happy it's nominated for GOTY (although it won't win). It was the best damn game on the wii this year (and 1 of 2 games that I bought this year for the wii). Sure it had its flaws (like dead environment) but I loved how it utilized the wiimote and the storyline was amazing. can't wait for part 2. i know suda has big upgrades in store for the sequel.BrooklynHotBoy
Utilized?
You were impressed how you didn't have to follow any of the on screen commands? You just had to shake the Wiimote and the game would accept it?
So your passion is games that don't work? Great gaming = bad controls?

bad controls is prone to wii games. only game that truly utilizied the wiimote to its advantage was MP3, imo. I found the way to do the combination finishers in NMH to be quite interesting and fun although I you couldnt really choose with combo finisher you wanted to do or which wrestling move to do but its a work in progress.
Just because you found it bad doesn't mean I did and thats why I said I LIKE. so keep it moving

Your opinion, entirely subjective... :roll:Wow, someone else finally sees how biased gamespot really is.Or maybe Gamespot's just being bias? Seriously, Brawl has about four times as many votes.:P
I was also very desturbed that de Blob was not on the list for best platformer or wii game of the year. At least it'll win best Australian game, but that just doesn't do it justice.

In his defense, the controls do work to an extent, for instance, if the screen shows "up", swinging either up or down will do. if the screen shows "right", swinging left or right will do. I have such great faith in the second installment because No More Heroes truly is a unique game. But for what it's worth, the original didn't have "bad controls".[QUOTE="BrooklynHotBoy"]I'm absolutely happy it's nominated for GOTY (although it won't win). But the controls always respond when you do the proper motion,so I don't see what the problem is just because you have the potential to do something else to make it work...:|
I don't like that list of nominees.. big exclusives from all consoles missing.
Well, as a hardcore gamer myself, Smash and Galaxy don't appeal to meZweihand
So just because they don't appeal to you means they're casual? :|
I'm not a casual gamer and love them both, what are you trying to prove?

Your opinion, entirely subjective... :roll:Wrong, my facts are facts
Hardcore players play every single genre
That means unless you're playing them all you're a casual, hate to break it to you.
If you just center on certain franchises you're an enthusiast.

Care to give us proof that your "fact" is a real fact? Otherwise, your "fact" is a opinion (which we all have). If you need me, I'll be playing Ocarina of Time on the Virtual Console (one of the best games of all time (along with Majora's Mask) in my opinion).I'm hoping for a surprise and one of the downloadable games will win. If that's the case, it's a close one in my book between Megaman and World of Goo.

It already HAS HAPPENED. It too was a pretty big surprise as well that IGN would make such a decision. O_O

Now that made me smile :DIts the worst list i've ever seen they just want people to vote for GTA,Fallout 3 and MGS4 i mean wheres Brawl or Mario Kart at least. So many people including myself were checking the Dojo nearly everyday for an update to see what was new in Brawl it was the only time i've ever hyped for a game in my life.I'm not saying NMH doesn't deserve the spot but Brawl certainly does and if you can replace smash bros with NHL and Braid thats just ridiculous.damaster101Yeah, I checked there everyday and posted in the SSBB forums :P Good times.

Im not sure what is worse. The days in which games were seen as nerdy and childish, or that gamers today call themselves hardcore. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what games you play, or how many games you play, just as long as you enjoy them. I know people who have been gaming nearly 40 years and yet they still avoid many genres of game because they don't like them. You can't like everything. That's like saying you're not a real fan of a band because you don't like every track from every album they've ever released. Personally I think anyone who calls themselves a hardcore gamer is more likely someone, probably a teenager, who depends too heavily on gaming in their lifestyle.
NMH was kinda lame imo.
I will stick up for it and say it had potential, that's for sure. The concept, the bosses, the weapons....were all there. But the rest of the game wasn't imo. Cheers to Suda if he can bring Desperate Struggle to new heights.
It is a shame that DeBlob isn't a contender though. I've heard great things about that game.
Yep. It was missing from from the best platformers as well.[QUOTE="Skie7"][QUOTE="GabuEx"]I think the bigger travesty is that de Blob isn't even a nominee for best Wii game. WTF guys? :(GabuEx
That's it, I'm going on a hunger strike.

Stop being so damn technical it doesn't make you sound smart.Interesting conclusion
So the game that's not currently winning the best Wii game of the year will win?
So you know who is going to vote later?
