with brawls release coming up in a couple of months, and still no announcment of a mic... i know that both you and me are starting to get worried that there will be no mic... Yesterday, they announced that you can edit your own little sayings/comebacks/taunts (whatever you want to call them...)

i think that if Nintendo doesn't include a mic. they will make a HUGE mistake. One big reason thatI didn't buyMedal of Honor Heroes 2, is because the lack of a mic.

A mic just makes the feeling so much more... EPIC

Unfortunately, I'm not expecting a mic. I guess you never know, but really, the chances are slim.

Nope doesn't look like it. As you said they've made those phrase things for fights, they wouldn't have put them in if it has mic. Although, some people may not wanna use mic... Who knows we might be surprised.

I'm not a fan of voice chat either actually. Imo if my mum saw me talking into a Wii Remote to some random guy over the internet she'd think I'm whacked.

i think its kind of ridiculous that there wont be any headset support because every other system on the market right now has one, EVEN THE DS! seriously though, I thought we were in the next generation?

Unless N's can invent some voice censoring program, I don't think we'll see voice chat ina any online game unless its a mature game (OHZ NOES Teh RAPIS gonna TOuch teh Kids!11)

I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't release a micsince Nintendo announced that you wouldn't be able to contact online players in any way (not even in game messages.)

think from the buissness side of things. Nintendo would want law suit or mountains of complains from r-tarded parents complaining their children are being called " F***** n00bs" "G** F****TS" and stuff like that...

Yeah, who the hell wants a mic for Brawl?

I mean an online Co-op game, Yes. But Brawl? A mic would just be used for trash talking. Nintendo made the right call here.

I do not see what the big deal is. I mean I personally wouldn't mind Nintendo to have a mic, but it is not like thats a deciding factor wether I buy the game or not. I can see the purpose for more team based games, but I see no reason why they should have to make one for Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

Did you really think there was going to be one? If they haven't announced yet then there likely won't be one. Sorry. I don't think this game really will suffer greatly without one.

Mic sounds cool but I would perfer Keyboard chat for wii, The mic action is pretty cool to some degree until you have people getting mad and start losing and start calling you all kind of racial names and I experience that a lot with my 360 and it pisses me off when it boils down to racial calling and the person saying that is only saying it cause they know they are safe in their house where I can't get them so most games I dont use my mic because after awhile it ruins my online gaming experience.

I have xbox live and really, i just mute everyone because theres always some 4 year old who somehow got his hands on halo 3. Think about how many 4 year olds will be on nintendo. Really, its not that much of a difference. However, Brawl would be perfect for one because theres only 4 people chatting, not 16.

Please nintendo?

Maybe none of you have friends? I think the point of havine a mic is to get into a game with your friends and have some fun. Just because a game has mic support doesn't mean you have to wear it. It would be a nice addition and if you don't want to talk then don't use the mic simple solution.

I haven't read a ton about this game, but it seems to me that a mic would only be necessary for online play. Is Nintendo actually supporting online play? It would be a huge mistake to not support it.

like the guy above you posted... if you dont want it you dont need to use it but its nice to have the choice. First you can use it when you play with people you know, second playing without one feels like you are just playing AI with lag (IE: Strikers), third there will be games where you need it because of modes like Co-op and whatnot.

Whoa I have tons of friends and my family are hardcore gamers but if no one wants to play at times and I am online by myself I still should be able to have only mic chat while playing the game. Not just that the whole mic thing is to build an online community to make more friends but sadly some people are just ignorant online though.

I think with games that are more team based (or can be) like MoH:H2 being able to communicate split-second details to your team becomes a major part of the strategy...so booooo for no mic in that game. However SSBB doesn't really require a mic in my opinion because that whole element just isn't present. Sure it would be fun to talk poo pre-or-post match but that isn't necessary.

If SSBB doesn't have mic support I hope Nintendo don't decide to put one in last minute - I could just imagine: "Oh by the way, the release date has been pushed back to July...".

I'm not bothered myself whether it has it or not.

Gotta say this is pretty much my feelings on Nintendo bringing out a Wii headset. I know there is a demand for them, but honestly, I never used the Xbox one. When I'd play Halo 2, I'd hear nothing but swearing, useless crap, and the worst jokes ever! I always just muted it or took it off completely; didn't enhance the gameplay, just annoyed the hell out of me.

While I couldn't be certain, I'd think that if Nintendo got a headset, eventually the games would devolve to that level of annoying. Smash Bros. players can be very competitve and..."excited" when they start playing. A few fast-paced matches can instantly ruin that family friendly atmosphere Nintendo worked so hard for. Next thing you know, we'd be reading articles about angry parents writing letters to Nintendo about the company teaching their children how to swear. So I think that there shouldn't be a headset, or if there is, there should be some sort of censoring feature the player can turn on...which, knowing Nintendo, there probably would be.

I agree. If you're playing a team-based game such as CTF, it would help to communicate with teamates so you can plan what you're doing, but if you're only playing a single player game like SSBB, all you'd really be able to do is trash talk since you don't have to communicate plans with anyone.

First of all, there's really not much point to having voice chat in a fighting game. Other games, yes. Secondly, I am not sure why Nintendo is so hesitant to include voice chat for the Wii. They already included a Friend Code system whereby you can only play with people who you give an okay to play with. So why not have voice chat Friend Codes only? That way you are only talking to people who you give the okay to talk to. So you don't like what the person online has to say to you, its your own darn fault for adding him to your Friends List.

There's no point to a mic. It's Brawl. In MoH, I can see, but in a game like Brawl, any communication at all is out of the ordinary.

All you would hear over the mic would be trash, if there were online co-op I would understand.
That aside,a couple of questions:
What if you were playing someone from Japan? Halo pretty much only americans only play so no problem there.

Well It's a fact that a lot of kids will be playing this game and so if by any chance they are playing online with someone they dont know then all they are gonna hear is trash talk and thats pretty much all I hear when I play first Person Shooters with a mic. So its not really smart to do that. i guess having a mic to talk to your friends is fine but if I wanna play and talk with my friends then I just play and talk with them on the phone,no big deal.Im not a fan of voice chat anyway so I dont really care if they have a mic for brawl or not.

Nintendo's been very good about incorporating what players want in this game so far, so if enough people request a mic, I bet Nintendo will listen.

It could be a really easy to use-- just plug in a little mic adaptor into the bottom of the wiimote where the nunchuck goes. The adaptor could have an outlet on the other side so the nunchuck can still be attached; the mic adaptor would it just between the wiimote and the nunchuck. It could have a built in microphone and an outlet for a headset to plug in, and either could be used. The Wii shuld be able to receive signals from the mic and headset through the same way the wiimote communicates with the system, and I think its completely engineer-able. I would like to see it as a new peripheral for the wii, not just for brawl, but it could use it, too. I'm sure Nintendo's thought of somthing like it, though
