Just exactly how much better is the DS lite compared to the DS Phat?

other than the light weight, what's so different? and is it worth it to abandon my DS Phat to buy a DS lite?

Adjustable and brighter screens. Much more compact. A more slick a sexier design. And I believe a longer lasting battery life depending on the lights lvl of brightness....

I still have my fat DS. And I plan on keeping it too though because of it's durability, which is much higher the DS lite......

besides the fact that it's much more attractive, the brighter backlight on the lite is a night-and-day difference compared to the original DS. the battery life is much longer and they changed the locations of the mic and power button so you don't accidentally turn it off every so often.

I highly recommend the lite, but maybe wait around for the 3rd version of the DS, rumored to come out next year.

well, if you have big meaty hands then I would stick with your fatty, because the DS is only smaller and will cramp your hands like crazy; thus making gameplay mildly painful.

i upgraded to the lite from the phat, and i think its worth it if you want a better color selection and sleeker design, but if you are low our are going to be low on money just stick with your old ds.

I prefer the Phat DS. The Dpad on the Lite is awful compared to the Phat, I tried playing Contra 4 on a lite and shooting diagonally was ridiculous. I had to press much harder on the Lite than I did on my Phat DS. The shoulder buttons are also easier to use on the Phat.

It's tons better. I couldn't believe it when I upgraded from the original DS to the Lite.

It's worth it for the better screen colour - it's like night and day.

Don't believe people saying if you have big hands stay with the original - unless you're a pro basketball player, or have sausages for fingers, it's fine.
